Miyuki's POV

"Let's go..." I said, dropping the other contestants kids' swords as Tanjiro and I moved to face the real challenge ahead. The test wasn't over yet, it had merely began.

We continued to fight other demons, we became increasingly relentless and restless. "Fucking tell me!!" I demanded, asking the demons how to turn one back into a human.

None of them answered, their silence infuriated me. Just as I was about to snap, Tanjirou sniffed the air, his expression changing. "Wisteria?" he said, noticing the familiar flowers.

I sighed as the demons ran away, the sight of the flowers calming me down. "Sorry..." I apologized for losing my cool. "I shouldn't have let it get to my head."

Tanjirou gave me a reassuring smile. "It's okay," In the morning, we found ourselves back where we started. Tanjirou, I, and three other candidates stood at the gathering area.

One, clad in yellow, looked exhausted. Another, clad in black, looked angry. The third, clad in pink, appeared calm and composed.

"Only five of us? But there were at least thirty," Tanjirou said, looking around.

"I'm gonna die. I'm a goner. Even if I survive now, I'm gonna die in the end anyway," the guy with yellow hair muttered in despair.

"Welcome back. We're glad to see that you're safe," the twin girls greeted us, their expressions serene.

"So? What am I supposed to do now? Where's my sword?" the angry dude asked impatiently.

"First, we shall issue you all uniforms. We will take your measurements, after which your rank will be engraved. There are ten ranks in all," one of the twins explained all of the ranks.

We lined up as the sisters took our measurements, efficiently and without fuss. They handed us our uniforms and explained the ranking system. "There are ten ranks among the corps, and you all start at the lowest rank."

'Oh, great. Just what I always dreamed of—Nothing like a fresh start with zero status.'

As we listened, the guy in yellow whispered to himself, "I just want to go home."

"And our swords?" the angry dude demanded again, his patience clearly worn thin.

"Today, we will let you choose the ore for your swords, but the swords will take ten to fifteen days to complete," the twins replied, their calm demeanor unshaken by his outburst.

"Are you kidding me?" he snapped,

The twins remained unfazed. "But first..." The twin on the right clapped her hands twice. A few birds flew toward us and the other three survivors.

"We will now assign each of you your own Kasugai Crow," the twins said, explaining that the Kasugai Crows were used primarily for communication.

Zenitsu, the guy with yellow hair, had a sparrow perched on his hand. "Did you say 'crow'?" And I sweatdropped at my crow which was an eagle as big as my arms.

"This isn't a crow though?" We asked together sweat dropping.

"Don't give me that crap!" Genya, the angry guy, shook the crow off his arm and marched toward the twins. "Who the hell cares about some stupid crow?!" He was impatient and furious.

"I want a sword, you hear? The Demon Slayers' sword... The Color Changing Sword!" Genya grabbed one of the twins by her hair. "Hey!!" I slapped the back of his head.

"Huh?! You bitch you wanna die?!" He growled at me, and I glared back at him, slapping the back of his head again and pulled the little girl away from him. "So you have a death wish huh?"
