Marrying the last boss was not in my life plan.

At the threat I could only stare at the demon lord in disbelief.

Miyuki's POV
In the grand hall of the Demon Slayer Corps Headquarters, the Hashiras sat in a semi-circle opposite Kagaya Ubuyashiki.
"Umm... Miyuki-sama, you should stop crying already. I feel like I did something wrong," Kagaya said awkwardly, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
I sniffled into the kerchief and glared at him, eyes red and puffy.
"Then you should've let my brother headbutt that bastard!" I pointed dramatically at Sanemi, who just glared back at me with an indignant huff.
Sanemi crossed his arms and muttered under his breath, "Headbutt? Please, like that would even work on me."
"Just before you dive into your meeting, can I ask something?" I said, wiping my face with the warm, wet cloth given to me by one of the twins. "What is it?" Kagaya asked curious.
"I knew Muzan was trying to procreate demons, but how did you let it escalate to such a carnage?" My voice was calm, yet carried a note of incredulity.
'No wonder heaven was in chaos.'
Internally, I couldn't help but think that no wonder Amaterasu and the other gods were on edge, adamant about sending me here.
It seemed like I wasn't doing much yet, but I knew I was the only one who could stop the multiplication of demons as long as Muzan sinks his teeth into me.
Kagaya nodded solemnly, acknowledging my point. "The threat to human life is greater than it's ever been. We'll have to bolster the ranks of the Demon Slayers. What do you all think?"
Sanemi leaned forward. "The incident on Mt. Natagumo made it crystal clear. The caliber of Demon Slayers has nose-dived to unbelievable levels. They're all useless," he said bluntly.
Uzui chuckled, a grin spreading across his face. "Well, that kid today sure seemed competent. He did land that flamboyant blow on you, Shinazugawa. He's got potential."
Shinobu sighed. "But having more members will be harder to organize, and them risking their lives is too much to ask."
"Yet still, Muzan keeps evading our grasp, and the demons have been stronger of late. But we must not lose hope. We have the potential to overcome this." Rengoku remarked.
Kagaya addressed the group gently. "You are the greatest descendants of the First Breath Users from the Feudal Era. I believe in your strength and dedication. Do your very best to defeat Muzan."
I sat in a corner of the room. I buried my face in my knees and let the tears flow, barely hearing the ongoing discussions about last night's tragic events.
The Hashiras were debating how many Demon Slayers had died and how to take care of the aftermath when Kagaya called for Murata to enter.
Murata walked in, looking weary but alive. I lifted my tear-streaked face to see him. "Glad you're alive," I managed to say through my dramatic tears.
