Miyuki's POV

Tanjiro and I trudged toward the next training area as the sky dimmed, casting long shadows. He glanced over at me as I fidgeted my fingers

"Why are you fidgeting so much?" Tanjiro asked in innocent concerned.

"Oh, you know, just worried about my ass being wrecked," I replied as nonchalantly as I could. "But... it seems like Sanemi-san likes you." Tanjiro blinked at me, puzzled.

"Exactly." I replied blankly

Tanjiro tilted his head, clearly still confused, and we continued our walk in awkward silence.

Just as he started looking around with furrowed brows, he squinted into the distance. "Um... Was Shinazugawa-San's dojo this way?"

Before I could respond, Tanjiro's crow swooped down and cawed loudly, interrupting him. "WRONG! Wrong, wrong, wrong! Turn right at the corner, birdbrain!"

"Oh, so we turn right there... thanks?" Tanjiro nodded, a bit flustered.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Zenitsu popped up in front of us like a cartoon character who'd taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque. "AHH!" I yelped, clamping a hand over my mouth in surprise.

"Zenitsu?!?!" we all screamed in unison, nearly jumping.

"You're still here? You didn't pass yet??" I asked incredulously, remembering the last time I'd seen Zenitsu at least two weeks ago, looking like he was ready to meet his maker.

"Miyuki! Tanjiro!! HELP ME ESCAPE!!" Zenitsu shrieked, latching onto Tanjiro like a human leech, his eyes wide and twitching with terror.

"Escape? From what?" Tanjiro asked confused.

Zenitsu looked as if he'd seen the gates of hell. "From everything! From life! From training! From HIM!" He clung tighter to Tanjiro, practically weeping.

Tanjiro glanced at me, lost. "Maybe... we should've taken that right turn faster?" And I chuckled.

"I can't stay upright anymore! I just can't, see?! I—I-It took me forever to get this far!" Zenitsu explained, crawling along the wall as if he was a lizard in desperate need of escape.

Before we could respond, a tall shadow loomed over us. We looked up in horrified silence as the Wind Hashira himself, Sanemi Shianzugawa, grabbed Zenitsu by the head.

"Make your choice!" Sanemi demanded menacingly. "Either come back to training or be killed by me!"

"No~! Please spare me!" Zenitsu's face paled as he pleaded.

"MiyukiIIIIkkKIIII, use your magic like last time." He then grabbed onto me for dear life, his eyes wide with panic. "No, now calm down, okay?" Tanjiro tried to soothe him.

"Gah! Gahh! Gahhh!" But Zenitsu just screamed, shaking his head.  "Shut up!" Sanemi snapped, and with a swift chop to the neck, Zenitsu was knocked unconscious.

I couldn't help but chuckle nervously as Zenitsu fell, causing me to almost topple over with him. "Tsk... Carry him." Sanemi clicked his tongue, clearly annoyed.

I quickly stepped in, taking Tanjiro's bag so he could carry Zenitsu. "Uh, yes, sir!" Tanjiro complied, lifting Zenitsu onto his back.

"Sorry, Zenitsu. Let's get through this together," Tanjiro said apologetically as he adjusted Zenitsu's weight.

I chuckled nervously. "I don't think he'll appreciate that," I said, shaking my head as we followed Sanemi to the dojo. As we approached the dojo, Tanjiro looked both excited and determined.
