Zenitsu and Inosuke

Miyuki's POV

Sometime later, in a dense forest, we headed toward our destination. 

Zenitsu, as usual, was whining. "Hey, Tanjirou, on second thought, I'm not gonna make it. Even if I go along, I'm gonna be totally useless."

I grabbed his hands, giving him a reassuring smile. "I'll be with you, so don't worry." His cheeks turned red, and he squeaked, "Kyaa!"

Tanjirou and I quickened our pace as the scent of blood grew stronger. Suddenly, a mansion came into view. "Ah... it's the Tsuzumi Mansion," I said, recognizing the ominous building.

Tanjirou looked at me, surprised. "It's been here since I last saw it." Standing in front of the mansion, Tanjirou said, "I can smell blood."

Zenitsu, however, was more focused on the sound. "I don't know about that, but do you hear that sound? Also are we all gonna work together, after all?"

"Kids," I cut them off, spotting two children cowering under the trees. "Hey, guys, what are you doing here?" Tanjirou approached them, but they recoiled in fear.

They seemed really spooked, so I kneeled down and smiled softly. "Okay, wanna see something cool?" I performed a simple magic trick, making a coin disappear and reappear a flower behind the girls ear.

 Their eyes widened in amazement, "Shall I do one more?" I asked they nodded eagerly. Watch closely!" With a quick motion, I made a small piece of cloth appear, then folded it in my hands. 

As I opened my palms, a handful of colorful candies appeared, I put one each it their mouth, "Sweet..." They muttered and relaxed a bit, falling to their knees in relief. 

I hugged them into my arms. "Did something happen? Is this your house?" I inquired gently. "No. No, it's not. This... This is... a m-monster's... house," the boy replied, trembling.

They explained that the house was haunted and that a monster had taken their brother inside. "Did you two follow him here? You did well. Good job!" I praised them, noting their bravery in following the traces of his blood.

"Don't worry! We're going to defeat the bad guy and rescue your brother!" Tanjirou assured them. "Really? You really will?" Teruko asked, her eyes wide with hope.

I smiled, giving her a reassuring pat on the head. "Yeah. For sure!" Tanjirou replied confidently.

"Tanjirou... Miyuki-San..." Zenitsu called us tearfully. "Hey, what is this sound? This creepy sound never stops. Is it a tsuzumi?" he asked, shivering.

I scolded, "Sound? I don't hear any--" I sucked in a gasp as the ominous sound of a tsuzumi drum filled the air.

"Wah!!" Shouichi and Teruko yelped, grabbing onto my short kimono that belonged to Tamayo. 

On the final drumbeat, a boy's body flew out from the door on the second floor, landing heavily on the ground. "Don't look!" I quickly shut their eyes, while Tanjirou shielded our view.

Zenitsu, still trembling, muttered, "Why is it always like this." I chuckled softly, trying to lighten the mood. "Come on, Zenitsu. Think of it as an adventure. A really... creepy adventure."

Zenitsu groaned,. "Yeah, right. Some adventure."

"Are you all right?!" Tanjirou ran to the fallen boy and cradled him in his arms. "Are you all right? Stay with me!"

I could see that the wound was so deep. "Even though... I got out... I made it out... Made it outside... Still...Am I gonna die? Am I still gonna die?" the boy pleaded tearfully. I bit my lip, helpless.
