Miyuki's POV
The morning light streamed through the window as I woke up, feeling the absence of Muzan's warmth beside me.
I groaned, stretching my sore body. "I guess I'll start today," I muttered to myself, getting up and heading to the bath.
After a refreshing bath, I dressed and stepped out, to find Zenitsu.
"Have you seem my friend?" I asked one of the servants where Zenko was, but they all looked nervous and hesitant. My patience snapped. "Where is Zenko?" I demanded coldly.
They exchanged worried glances but remained silent. Frustrated, I began searching the rooms myself.
As I approached one room, I overheard an attendant talking to the owner about Zenitsu's disappearance. The owner dismissed it as just another desertion, fearing retaliation from Warabihime.
I kicked the door open, glaring at the owner. "Where is she?" I asked coldly.
He scowled, and then nervous by my intrusion. "You know what? No need. I'll look for her myself." Without waiting for a response, I stormed out, determined to find Daki.
I searched the entire mansion, my frustration growing with each passing minute. Finally, I confronted the owner again. "I'm quitting," I declared, not waiting for his response as I walked out.
On the rooftop of a nearby building, I spotted Tanjirou and Zenitsu. "Hi, I'm starting from today," I greeted them, trying to sound casual despite the tension in the air.
Tanjirou looked at me concerned. "Was it Muzan?" he asked, noticing the bite marks on my body. His fists clenched in anger.
"I'm fine, Tanjirou." I shook my head, trying to assure him. "Why didn't you do anything?" he demanded, frustrated.
"Because he needs to drink my blood—it's the only way I can stop him from creating more humans!"
I sighed, understanding his concern but facing the harsh reality. "There are thousands of people here. I hadn't listened to him, he would've wiped them all out without a second thought."
"So what are you going to do about it? Just give up?" Tanjirou looked at me with a mix of pity and anger.
"I'm not giving up," I said firmly. "It's not as simple as just confronting him. I have to be smart about this."
Tanjirou nodded slowly, his expression softening. "Alright, I get it. Just be careful. And if you need help, let us know."
I gave a small smile, feeling a bit reassured. "Thanks. I'll keep that in mind."
The three of us sat down on the building, trying to piece together our next steps. "I told you! There's a demon at my House, all right?!" Inosuke, always animated, started making wild gestures.
"Yeah, sure, uh... Hold up a second, okay?" Tanjirou sweatdropped, clearly unsure how to respond to Inosuke's enthusiastic motions.
Inosuke, not one to be easily deterred, continued his hand motions with even more vigor. "I'm telling you, it was a thing like this! You know, like this?! Do you get this, then?!"
Watching them, I couldn't help but chuckle at their interaction. Inosuke's passion was always amusing, if not a bit exhausting.
Tanjirou finally managed to calm him down a bit. "Uzui-San and Zenitsu should be coming soon to check in, so—"
"No," I interrupted, my voice firm. They both looked at me, confused. I gripped my hands tightly. "Zenitsu won't be coming."
At that moment, Tengen Uzui appeared out of nowhere. He looked at me, his expression pained, and bit his lip. I forced a strained smile. "It's not as bad as it looks," I said, standing up.
