I woke up early the next morning. 4am early. Yes, I know this sounds like Cassie from Euphoria but I had to. I had a shower and then did my hair and makeup. I had to put on my makeup mask for my class and then my actual mask. I felt Lando wake up and then wrap his arms around my neck while kissing my cheek

"you know I love you just the way you are"

"but other people don't. I need to put this on like a mask so they can't see the real me"

"Honey, you don't need a mask. You're beautiful inside and out. Remember that no matter what people say or think about you"

"I still need this mask. it hides my real self"

"Baby, I get that it can be hard, but please remember that you don't need this mask. You're amazing just as you are"

"not to them. Now, my professor said you can come and sit with me in the class as long as you don't disrupt anyone too much so if you wanna come along I suggest putting a shirt on because as much as I like seeing your muscles, I don't want every girl drooling over you. and probably wear a hoodie with the hood up so not girls can notice you and fangirl over you"

"Sure, I'll be your lucky charm today. Just let me throw on a shirt and a hoodie. And remember, baby, you don't need to hide behind a mask or worry about what others think"

"I do while being here. maybe that might change while being at your races but not here. I have to focus on my final exam and I don't need people bullying me and distracting my brain"

He got changed and we went to my class. I pushed his hair back in his hoodie so no one could see his distinctive curls and I pulled his hood forward before holding his face in my hands.

"don't talk to anyone except me, don't look at other people or they'll look at you and figure out who you are, stay with me and keep your hood up"

"Got it. I'll keep my head down and be your personal bodyguard for the day. Just remember, if anyone tries anything, I'll kill them" he said before quickly pecking my lips. I brought him to the corner of my class. My class was quite small when it came to people so I always distanced myself but now I had Lando. He cuddled me the whole time and was honestly so clingy. I got him a bracelet after that and everything was perfect again. That was until he had to go for his races. I went with him to the airport but I was gripping onto him with tears filling my eyes. He had to leave for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

"You promise to call me every day?" I said. He pulled me into a tight hug and kissed the top of my head multiple times

"I promise, baby. I'll call you every day, no matter where I am or what time it is. You're my world, and nothing could ever change that"

"I don't want you to go..." I said with tears pouring down my face

"But I have to... you know I have to. 2 weeks and then we'll be together forever. I promise I'm not abandoning you" he said.

"Don't go..." I said as I got closer to my breakdown.

"I have to, baby. But know that I'll be coming back for you. With all my heart" he said. He started walking but I gripped onto his wrist

"No!!! Don't leave me!!!" I said while literally crying like crazy. He pressed his lips firmly against mine and then walked towards his plane. He had to or he would have never gotten to his race.

I went back to my old habits. I couldn't handle it. I found my stash of weed and smoked it all night. I got so high that I forgot about everything but I got so high to the point where I was unconscious after smoking the weed all night. My professor must have found me when I didn't show up to class because I woke up in the hospital. They told me I was clinically dead for 5 minutes and I've been in a coma the rest of the time. It was Sunday. I looked at my phone and saw all the messages from Lando over the last few days. I had to FaceTime him.
