*Chapter 41*
Dear Diary,
Let's start with the most important thing of the day. Lockhart completely fell for my trick. I bewitched a comb that a "secret admirer" gifted him. He used it already in class, looking at himself in the mirror, talking about how he won this stupid smile award again and how hard it is to be such a popular star as him and still be humble (so incredible humble talking about it). Then it happened. Mid-sentence his blonde wonderful hair turned all different kinds of colour. My favourite was, when it looked like fireworks exploded in his hair.
He was so baffled and outraged. He fumbled nervously with his hair, tried to stop it from happening, only to run out of the classroom in fear. The whole class erupted in laughter. When someone than picked up the comb, they saw the sign of the secret pranker on it and my legacy just grew. You could see, Fred and George were furious, that someone managed to pull that off before them. The whole school then later on was taking about the secret pranker again and let me tell you: The twins need to pull something huge to top that. That's good, because it gives me time to plan for a while without pressure.
Oh and yeah, that date with Fred happened as well. It was risky pulling of such a prank, knowing fully well I meet with Fred later and he might even talk about it. But to my surprise he didn't even mention it once. But the evening was nice. He waited for me after his Quidditch practice on the pitch. He was still a bit sweaty from the training. Though we hang out around the field, he showed me how to properly fly a broom and teased me heavily about my former decision to become a Quidditch player. Well I can't blame him, I am really horrible at it, but at least we had something to laugh about. It wasn't until I got really cold that we stopped and walked back up to the castle. We walked in silence, which is untypical not only for him, but also for me. However, it never felt awkward or not natural. It's like it made sense.
In a way this "date" was nothing major or anything that we wouldn't have done as friends, but that was exactly what I had asked for. A normal date without drama and that's what I got. Plus, a really great time. I've got to see a more quiet side of Fred and I have to admit, I liked it. That makes me curious if there is more about him that I don't know yet.
I sat down with him on the Gryffindor Table when we came back and ate dinner with them. I could feel the prying looks of Sean and Louis miles away. I ignored them perfectly well. I got to hear loads because of that later on. They wanted to know everything we did, as we sat together in the halls.
Then Louis dropped a fucking bombshell out of nowhere. He asked if it was okay for me, if he stole that date idea for a girl he had his eyes on. Sean choked on his drink and Gemma looked at him confused. This time it was me bombarding him with questions. Turns out that a Hufflepuff girl a year below us, has his interest and that he tries to make his move on her. She first caught his interest in the library and since then, he always searches for reasons to talk with her. Since hearing what Fred and I did, he decided that might be a chill way of meeting and since he is a good flyer and part of the quidditch team as well, it could help him to impress her.
I gave him a go, but only if the girl really is interested in him. But let's be honest, it is Louis we are talking about. Of course she is gonna be interested. Sean didn't look too amused about this and I wonder if he knows that girl as well, since she's a Hufflepuff. Gina, that is that girls name, also has a huge fable for magical beasts and animals. What if Sean secretly had an eye on her as well? Please not another Louis and Sean fallout because of some girl. (Although nothing against Gina, she seems really nice.)
Wish Gemma and me luck that this will work out fine.
Yours,
Jade.
