"i can't say anything to your face, 'cause look at your face."

Christmas is near. This time, we have a ball. They must be desperate to get students to stay over winter break. Only fourth years and up can go, unless a younger student is asked, which isn't very likely.
We're studying in the Great Hall and everyone is asking people to ball. Ann walks over to the Slytherin table and I don't expect her to sit with Louis, Jordyn, and I, but she does.
"Have you guys found someone to go to the Yule Ball yet?" she asks as she sits down.
Louis and I shake our heads as Jordyn says, "I'm going with Theo."
My eyebrows narrow as I look up from my book at her, "Really? You didn't tell me that..."
"I was going to—but—I didn't know how you'd react to me going with another—... Y'know..." she stammers.
"It's not like he's blood related," I snort. "You've liked him since we were kids—as long as you're happy, I'm happy."
She smiles brightly before she remembers something. "By the way, I asked Theo, and he told me about the whole... y'know... so I'll tell you the plan when we go to bed. You and Pansy."
"You sure Pansy will be okay with it?" I ask as Louis and Ann exchange glances.
"Pansy is a follower," Jordyn shrugs. "Since you're family with Draco, she'll tag along."
Right. Pansy's crush on Draco and Blaise. I nearly forgot. She'll definitely join in.
Blaise isn't a part of the plan. He's too goody-two-shoes to do that.
You're probably wondering what Jordyn and I are talking about. I can't tell you because I'm sure that a snitch is reading this. So, you'll see soon enough.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Louis asks.
I look at him, in a quandary. Sometimes I find it very hard to lie to him. I don't know why, but with him, the fuse is a longer string for the lies to explode out of my mouth.
I clear my throat before saying, "Nothing..."
"That's a lot of talking for it to be nothing," Ann looks at both of us, skeptical to believe us.
Why does she have to not be oblivious at the worst times?
"It's nothing, we swear," Jordyn says, looking at me like I could've found a better excuse.
Sorry, Louis' gaze made me nervous...
