"you have everything and you still want more." || olivia rodrigo
Makayla
Never once in my life did I ever think that I'd break up with Grayson and get with Louis within a two month span, but here we are. Honestly, there's so much of Louis that I never appreciated until now. I wish my pride was smaller than my feelings for him. Maybe I'd finally know what this feeling is.
Annelise already found out, which means that everyone knows. Took longer than I expected, but whatever. I'm sure that Kai would've liked to know, but Mother and Father haven't really given him a proper grave yet so I can't even tell him.
Louis Lupin is my boyfriend. It feels sort of surreal to even say those words right now. He's been here since the beginning and it took me three times across the span of 17 years to see him.
Currently, everyone is in the Great Hall for study period. Louis is next to me, silently reading a book. I'm doing my homework until I glance up and see the girl that was hexed earlier this year. I set my pen down and whisper to Louis, "I'll be right back."
As I stand up, I notice Harry approaching her. Crap. Quickly, I start rushing toward the door to leave. That's when I notice Harry notice Draco staring at the two of them, terrified. Brothers ruin everything, don't they?
Draco starts subtly dashing toward the door and I. Once he's in reach, I grab his arm and quickly start dragging him to the nearest bathroom I can find.
He's panicking. I can tell. I push him into the bathroom and whisper-shout, "Are you out of your mind?"
"It was an accident," he sobs.
I sigh as he leans over the sink and pulls his vest off, leaving him in just a white blouse. As quietly as I can, I murmur, "You need to be more cautious."
He's now breathing heavily and turns on the faucet to wash his face. As he does so, I hear the door open quietly. Draco's oblivious as I turn around toward the door. There's nothing there. I feel my surroundings change only slightly as I hear Harry's thoughts in the room. Shoot.
When I turn to tell Draco we have company, Harry suddenly says, "I know what you did, Malfoys..." Draco quickly turns to Harry as he continues to accuse, "You all hexed her, didn't you?"
Before I can stop him, Draco launches a spell at Harry in rage. Harry gets out of the way just before it hits the wall as Draco pulls me behind a stall with him. Harry and Draco are now duelling. Great.
"You're going to get us all killed, Draco!" I shout over Harry's spell hitting the stall.
Just as Draco is about to respond with some snarky comeback, Harry shouts, "Sectumsempra!"
There is silence after the spell connects with Draco's chest, sending him onto his back in the water flooding the bathroom from broken sinks and toilets. Blood seeps through his blouse and trickles into the water around him. Suddenly, crimson is my least favorite color.
For a moment, I'm unable to do anything. I can only stare as my brother bleeds out into the water that will stain my socks a soggy red. I hear the door open and pull in Professor Snape's thoughts with the wind of the empty hallway. That's when I finally look at Harry. My gaze is harsh, cold, vengeful, and angry. I don't even notice the clench in my jaw until it borders on painful.
"What the hell have you done?" I mutter, wondering if the red in my eyes will do my anger justice. Harry stays silent as Snape walks in and starts aiding my brother. Though Draco doesn't seem to be dying today, my rage does not subside as I shoot out, "If you know that spell enough to use it freely, you'd know that spell is for enemies, you blimey idiot!"
"Makayla," I hear Snape murmur, "be quiet while I focus."
I go silent as I revert my gaze back to Draco. He's sobbing in pain. I don't blame him. Harry Potter just tried to tear him limb by limb with a simple careless word.
With one look from Snape, Harry is rushing out of the bathroom. If he stayed any longer, he would've looked like Draco. Only I would have done it correctly.
