"you know how much i hate that everybody just expects me to bounce back just like that."

We're all scattered throughout the property, everyone off doing their own thing. I watch from the top of a hill as Mattheo makes Ann laugh, his hands landing on her arms to steady her before she falls into the water. Sometimes I wonder how he makes it look so easy to gain someone's trust, but then I remember that he's worse than me. He's been lying this whole time. Nobody knows that he's a Deatheater. I guess he's even more of a coward than I thought he was.
As the wind blows, I feel sand prickle my eyes, but I just blink them away, ignoring the pain. All I want is for Louis to talk to me again, but I'm afraid that'll never happen. I'm afraid that I've ruined everything and have completely screwed myself over.
I watch as Louis walks out of the Shell Shack with Penelope, having a small conversation. I can't help but wonder how she seemed to age so much in just a year. She's only eleven-or-twelve years old. Why is she looking like she's 15? What makes me even more uneasy is the fact that she looks so much like me. The only difference is the eye color and nose. Those facial features actually look identical to Louis', which only makes this more creepy. Then I remember that she has no last name and that only makes me more suspicious. There's absolutely no way that she has no last name. She's hiding something. But I guess we all are nowadays.
It's about mid-April now. When Mattheo and I arrived at the Burrow, my cousin, Nymphadora, told me that she was pregnant... WITH REMUS LUPIN'S CHILD. That was nearly nine months ago. As much as the thought absolutely disgusts me, I can only wonder how the child is doing. If they've had him yet. What he's like. I guess I'll never know.
I hear sand crunching behind me, trailing to the spot next to me. Whoever it is sits next to me with a manly grunt. My eyes scan over the area, noticing that not a single person could be missing and sitting next to me instead of hanging out with the rest of our group. I quickly whip my head to the side to see who it is and freeze.
"Remus?" I ask, my voice coming out in a surprised gasp.
He smiles, "Miss me?"
I immediately hug him. "More than that! Where have you been?"
I can hear him chuckle as he wraps his arms around me in a tight, fatherly grip before gently pulling away. "Well, when the Deatheaters attacked our safehouse, I sent Ann and Louis to 12 Grimmauld Place, but I am now aware that Ann didn't make it."
I shake my head, "No, they got her, but they took her to Malfoy Manor, so I made sure that—" I pause. "Wait... How is Tonks? Has she had the baby yet?"
He smiles warmly. "That's actually what I'm here for," he says, gesturing to the group down by the shore. Tonks has made her way there, a baby swaddled in her arms and Ann absolutely swooning. I laugh softly at the sight. "We've come to talk about the issues of Godparentship."
My gaze snaps to him once more, surprised. "What? Why are you here then?"
"Well, nearly everyone from the Original Order is dead, so we have to take matters into our own hands," he sighs. "I need to talk with all of you inside."
I nod, pressing my hands against the sand as I push myself up to my feet. "Let's go, then."
"Not so fast," he says sternly. I look at him. "Why were you sitting here alone?"
For a moment, I'm quiet, contemplating if it's a good idea to tell Remus the truth. I know he means well, but I also know what he's thinking. He still doesn't trust me entirely, even though he was the first in the Order to know after Sirius, which technically makes him the first, now that Sirius is...
