More rules, more rules, and more rules. Umbridge is now the Headmaster due to Dumbledore's absence. She's way to tyrannical for my sanity.
Lately, she took students into questioning for 'illicit activities,' whatever that means. She's been doing what she did to me to everyone. It pisses me off.
She asked who we could possibly be afraid of to need to know Dark Spells while she's doing this. Hypocrite.
Meanwhile, I'm walking with Louis to Hagrid's shack. Harry, Hermione, and Ron are already there. We were told to meet Hagrid today after lunch. Thankfully, Louis and I have a free period since sixth years have that option. The Golden Trio has a class, but it's with McGonnagal, so they aren't worried about late, nor going to the class at all.
When we get to Hagrid's shack, him and teh trio are all waiting outside. Hagrid is already guiding us, once we're close enough, to the forest—the Forbidden Forest.
Once it's been about three minutes of walking in silence, I ask, "Hagrid, where are we going?"
Just as I finish my question, a herd of centaurs stempede past us. Louis grabs hold of my arm for whatever reason.
"Damn..." Hagrid murmurs. "This is way out of their territory... The Ministry keeps limiting where they can roam, they're going to have an uprising on their hands!"
"Hagrid?" Hermione asks. "What's going on?"
"Well, I've been trying to keep quiet... But now that Dumbledore's gone, I might be getting the sack soon..." he says, looking at his hands as his voice is filled with emotion. "I just don't know who's gonna watch him..."
"Him?" I ask before a giant reveals himself from the shadows.
We all take several steps back as it walks toward us. It grabs me and lifts me off the ground. I scream.
"Put her down!"
"Woah, woah!" Hagrid calls out at the sight. "He's just a kid, he don't know no better!"
"If he eats me, I'm going to—"
"Malfoy!"
"Put. Me. Down!" I shout, my finger in the giant's face.
The giant's smile fades as he puts me on the ground, Louis wrapping his arms around my shoulders protectively. I watch the giant walk to a tree before walking back over and giving me the handles of a bicycle. It stares at me patiently, as if waiting for me to do something. My eyes drift down to the bell. I ring it. The giant's smile returns. To that, I respond with a small smile as well.
"His name is Grawp. He's me family..." Hagrid mutters, looking at the ground. "If I get sacked, I dunno what to do with him... I can't just leave him..."
"We'll look after him," I say without even thinking it through."
"Mak—" Louis starts.
"I said we'll look after him!"
