[007] CHAPTER 29 - LITTLE TALKS

It doesn't take long for the Death Eaters to start casting spells at the dome in an effort to break into Hogwarts.

I watch as blue orbs of light fly toward the castle, causing some cracks in the protection charm. We have to keep going. Louis and I are rushing through the halls, running into Harry. There is only a moment of acknowledgement between all three of us before Harry and I lose our balance, grasping on to the wall. Hermione and Ron destroyed the cup.

Two more to go...?

Harry then starts rushing down the hall, I look at Louis before both of us start running to follow him.

I catch a glimpse of the burning Quidditch pitch and then realize that the dome has been destroyed. I guess that the Dark Lord has lost his temper.

There are echoes of destruction down the halls as we rush up the stairs, quickly catching up with Harry. A Death Eater crashes into the room through a window with black smoke. I immediately commit treason, pointing my wand and whomever it is and shouting, "STUPEFY!"

The Death Eater crashes to the ground as Neville and Ginny rush over.

"Ginny! Neville! Are you all alright?" Harry shouts over the screams of students rushing past us.

"Never better!" Neville cheers. "I feel like I could spit fire! You haven't seen Amy, have you?"

"My sister?" Harry asks.

"I'm mad for her!" Neville shamelessly admits to Amy's brother. I smile as I watch the encounter. "It's about time I've told her, since we'll probably both be dead by dawn!"

He runs off to find her. Harry and Ginny turn to each other and kiss.

Ew.

I glance at Louis with a grimace and he has the same disgusted expression. My disgust nearly turns into a cackle at the realization that we're thinking the same thing. Get a room.

When they both pull away, Ginny mutters, "I know..."

He nods and is running again. I groan, grabbing Louis' hand and rushing after him.

We reach the end of a hallway and watch Harry ask the castle to make the Room of Requirement appear. As he does so, I hear the thoughts of Draco behind me. They're distasteful and send an uneasy chill down my spin. Harry rushes in, and so does Louis, but I stay behind for a moment to glance behind my shoulder, meeting Draco's eyes. He's heaving as he watches us, something that I'll never relate to, seeing as I, for some reason, can't be short of breath from any physical activity.

I give him a pleading look before pushing the door open and running inside to catch up with the boys.

"So, what are you looking for?" I hear Louis ask as I walk over.

"Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem," Harry mutters.

"And you think it's here?" Louis looks around in disgust at the mess.

"I know it's here. Helena Ravenclaw told me herself."

We walk through the maze of the Room of Requirement until Harry and I stop in our tracks. I hear whispers in my ear and I can only guess that Harry is the same. We both slowly turn around, terrifying the hell out of Louis as Harry walks over to a table and grabs a box, opening it to reveal a tiara. The ringing in my ears suddenly reminds me that it's there, causing me to silently wince.
