Their Princess

Chapter 46

My back is aching, and my bum has gone numb, but I still choose to stay focused on my task instead of adjusting my position. If I move now, I will lose my inspiration. That's how art works. You just let it flow without getting distracted.

My guy, whose name I figured is Alerix, is sitting as still as a statue for my sake. He is only using his right hand for typing while I'm drawing intricate patterns on his hand.

He offered me a piece of paper, but art doesn't do ordinary things. It wants to bleed on his skin today. The good thing is, his hands are big. Like bigger than my face. So I can draw all that my heart desires.

For some unknown reason, I know he cares about me. He has shown immense love and care that my heart decided to melt for him. But I'm still worried about him eating me.

He confessed in the morning, right after my bath, that I smell so good that he wants to eat me alive. Should I tell him that I'm planning the same? I don't think he will like that, and I am highly doubtful that I can overpower him.

A knock comes on the door, distracting my mind but not my hands.

“ Hey. What are you doing?”

“ She is drawing, and I'm working.” My guy replies. 

“ Oh…….. that's interesting. What did the healer say? Is everything alright now?”

I hear him sigh heavily. “ I'm not sure. She said that the trauma has pushed her memories back. Now, all she knows is survival. But she was surprised to see her interacting with me, so yeah….. there's still some hope.”

When his hand is fully decorated, I move toward his wrist. Without having to tell him, he unbuttoned his shirt sleeve, allowing me more space to draw.

“ That's good. Did she say how long it will take to get her memories back?”

“ She wasn't sure about the period……. But Eli? Why are you waiting for her memories to come? I mean, you can still love her as you did before.”

“ Hey! That's not what I meant. I love her. It's just that I'm scared. What if she doesn't accept me this time? What if she…”

My guy interrupts. “ Eli, what makes you think she won't accept you? You connected with her emotionally before. You can do it now, too. Just give her some time, show her the real you, and she will come to you in no time.”

“ You think so?”

“ I believe it. If you love someone, you love them without having to change them. Do you think she is not our princess anymore?”

“ You're right……Can I take her outside?”

“ I don't know. You have to ask her instead of me.”

“ Baby?”

“ Princess?”

“ Hey? Do you want to go to the park with me?”

Huffing a sigh of frustration, I turn to face him. I don't know him well, but he shared his food with me yesterday. So that means he has a big heart.

Almost reluctantly, I nod, making his whole face brighten with a grin. I thought I would miss the warmth of my guy, but Eli is quite warm as well. Good thing he chose to carry me because I'm in no mood for moving my limbs today or tomorrow or the day after.

“ Higher?”

I nod excitedly. When we reached the park, I found the swing empty and ran toward it. I saw people around me staring but ignored them when Eli started to push me higher in the air, making me squeal in delight.
