Chapter 88

I want to go home. I want to sleep. I don't want to be here. I want my bed right now. I whine internally. I look at Daddy and Eli, who are immersed in a deep conversation with Ronan while I stand beside Eli, clinging to his side.

Rey's pov

I watch my little girl sleeping soundly in my arms, her warm breath hitting my neck, leaving a trail of goosebumps on my skin. I sigh in relief, knowing she is safe, happy, and well fed. I knew she wouldn't be able to stay awake longer. That's why we planned everything to be early, but Kai ruined everything.

I don't know what he is discussing with his father inside, but I want this thing to get over now.

" Is she asleep?" Alerix asks, concerned.

" Of course she is. It's past her bedtime. Here, cover her properly." Eli says while wrapping her favorite blanket around her.

" When are they starting, Alerix? What are they discussing so deeply?"

Alerix shrugs, but his posture says otherwise. He definitely knows what's going on. I shift my eyes to Eli, questioning him silently who only mouths to me ' Later'.

Sighing, I sway my baby against my body in a perfect rhythm that even has me almost falling into deep slumber.

" Finally." I see Shafira and Kai coming from the guest wing to the center of the garden, naked. As if sensing them, all the chatter comes to a halt, lights dim, and both of them take their position on the ground.

As soon as the priestess stops with her chanting, Shafira kneels in front of him and takes him in his mouth. Throwing her head up and down on his cock while Kai stands there motionless, staring in my direction.

My blood boils in fury and my body shakes rage. I want his blood in my hands. Alerix and Eli step toward him in the last warning. Before I can follow their footsteps, I hear a painful whimper and realize that my grip has gone tighter on my baby.

" F*ck. I'm sorry, baby. I'm so sorry." I apologize quietly in her ear, forgetting about the fight that is about to start. I sway her body with mine until the frown lines disappear from her forehead and her face relaxes again.

" Kai! Enough son! Don't be stupid!" I hear Roman shouting at his son. He is on the verge of losing control. I bet our relatives are having the time of their life. They would never have imagined this day to go like this.

No one dared and I mean not even a single soul dared to interrupt the wrath of Alerix and Eli. It was like they were waiting for this to happen. Alerix jumped on Kai, pushing him into the ground and threw punch after punch on his stupid face.

He tried to get away but Alerix gave him no choice. He dragged him back and went for his throat this time. Now that has him choking. Alerix roared his anger in his face, face red with fury, eyes black with anger. It might be my imagination but I think Alerix grew a little big.

A scream distracted me and I saw myself turning to my right where Eli was holding Shafira down who was throwing a knife at him.

Crazy b*tch. Did she really think a knife was enough to stop us? It didn't even take a single swipe of Eli's hand before Shafira went down.

" Alerix! Stop, son. That's enough. He is your brother." Father begs. Like literally. He never would have imagined his sons would be fighting against their cousin.

" He didn't yield, Father." Alerix says, in between his punches. Kai's face has turned to a pulp but for some reason he doesn't bend.

" Give up, Kai!!!" Alerix roars.

" No."

" Let's finish it then." Alerix throws Kai toward Eli who backhands him, making him splutter blood. Grabbing his arm, Eli snaps it in an odd angle making Kai screams in pain but still he doesn't give up.

What the heck is he up to? Does he really have a deathwish? No. It can't be. His obsession can't be this strong.

Alerix puts him in a chokehold and starts to pull his head out. From the corner of my eye, I see Uncle Roman going on his knees, his eyes filled with tears. He knows he can only beg now. He can't intervene. Kai chose his fate when he challenged us. He should have known he could never win against us. It doesn't matter if we are three in number. He should've considered that factor before standing against us.

We are claimed by our princess. Thus, we all have the right to defend our territory. Even one of us was enough to bring Kai to his knees. It's clear that Kai is a fool. A day of new beginnings has turned into endings.

I hear some bone cracking and see his face has lost all blood. Alerix continues to use his strength, and when it feels like everything has ended, Kai yields by tapping on the ground.
