“ It's cold tonight. I should've put more clothes on you.” Eli frowns.

“ Eli, if you put one more layer on me, I won't be able to walk. You will have to carry me then.”

“ That's acceptable. At least then you will be safe from this unforgiving weather.”

Eli is right about the weather. The temperature has really been unforgiving. I love winters but only from my blankets and warm cup of tea. 

This is a little bit too much. I press into Eli's side for more heat. He has even given me his jacket, saying cold doesn't bother him. This is true because he looks completely fine while I'm still shivering under four layers.

I should think of something else to keep myself distracted. I want to ask Eli about what Kai said, but I don't think it's the right time. I have worried them a lot, and I don't want to burden them with my needs, so I go for lighter topics.

“ Who do you like the most?” I look up at him expectantly. He looks surprised but then makes a thinking face.

He turns, stops, growls, walks, and then turns again. This continues the whole way until we reach home, and I breathe a sigh of relief. 

“ What took you so long? I was missing her. What happened? Why do you look so serious?” Zed asks.

“ Later. Where's Rey and Kai?”

“ Rey is in the kitchen while Kai is in the guest room. Why?”

“ Call Rey first, then I will explain.” 

Explaining something to brothers isn't a difficult task, but calming them definitely is. And if that explanation includes somebody threatening their possession, then they lose all their senses. Rey places me on the kitchen counter and warms up some milk for me since water doesn't sit well with my throat at night. Without me saying anything he places some cookies and sweets on a plate.

When the milk is ready, he serves it in two cups. Placing the cups on the counter, he brings me in his lap. Rey refuses the cookies when I offer him so I devour them alone with my milk. 

In moments like these, life feels simple and complete. I tell him about my plans on learning new skills and exploring this planet even more. Sighing deeply I rest my head on Rey’s shoulder while he walks us back to my room. And this time, I fell asleep on him.
