Chapter 89

Raelynn's Pov 

“I can't believe she slept through the whole fight. It was so loud out there.” I hear someone saying.

“ I told you she is a peace loving girl.”

“ Well, but you guys are not. Whatever happened out there was……” 

“ Mother, you need to understand that it was supposed to happen. Kai had it coming when he challenged us.” 

I think it's Rey.

“ I know. I'm just scared of what your father is going to do to her now.”

“ What do you mean? We won't let anything happen to her.”

I nuzzle in Rey’s neck, seeking his warmth, which he returns with a peck on my forehead. 

“ I'm aware. But you don't know your father the way I know him. He will try to get rid of her.”

“ He won't. He said so himself that he is backing off from our lives.”

A humorless laugh slips from Hana’s lips. “ He might have said that to stay in your lives. But now that he knows how much space she holds in your hearts and life, he will find something to take her away from you. Today, you drew a line between your family and her, and you chose her side. He won't accept that. Just be careful, son. I don't want you to lose what you hold so close to your hearts. Your father doesn't understand these emotions. Just be careful.” She whispers in the end.

Rey hugs me tight to him.

“ If it comes to it, then we will fight Father.”

Footsteps. Hurried footsteps echo in the room.

“ Are you guys okay?”

“ Yes, mother, we are. Tell me she didn't see anything that happened outside.”

I'm sure it's Daddy, but why is he panting so hard like he has run a marathon. 

“ She didn't. She slept through it all.”

Slept through what?

“ Thank the Goddess.” Eli exhales loudly.

“ Did they leave?” 

“ Yes. All of them except Father and Shafira.” Eli replies.

Where did they go?

“ Sesqi?” 

“ He has been sent to the discipline center.”

“ Why?”

“ He told the Princess that he didn't like Shafira. Princess felt guilty. So, we canceled the adoption papers and let the officials take him.” 

“ That b*tch lied!!” Rey shouts.

“ Calm yourself down. Give her to me.” I open my eyes to see that I'm in Eli arms now. “ Hey baby, did I wake you up? I'm sorry.” He pats my bum, and I sigh in relief. I was about to doze off when someone barged in the living room, yelling.

“ Alerix!!!! How dare you!!!???!!” 

Who the heck is here now? Let me sleep in peace. Why do they shout so much?

I whimper. “ Eli.” 

“ You guys handle her, I'm taking princess to her room.” 

“ No, you are not. Let her hear what kind of monsters you are….. how could you…..” Shafira’s voice trails behind as Eli carries me to my room.
