There are days when I want to try everything, want to be creative, adventurous, and full of life. Today is not one of those days. Today, I'm lazy, tired, and moody for no particular reason.

And what irritates me the most are the uninvited guests that we're having these days. Mrs. Fawx, the lady from the tailor's shop, came today with her daughter, claiming I invited them.

Guards didn't let her in until she claimed to be my guest. But I don't think I ever invited her. Ever since she came, she has been biting Eli's ear off, who is trying to be as polite as he can.

“ Princess, are you sure she's your friend?” Zed whispered in my ear.

I shrug, staring at Mrs. Fawx’s daughter, Feya, who is sitting across from me on the floor. She hasn't uttered a single word, just kept her head down, nodding occasionally when her mother asked her something.

Maybe she is nervous.

I get up to move her with me. “ Where are you going, princess?” Eli asks alert.

“ Outside.”

“ Oh, that's lovely. I'm sure my daughter is going to be a great company for you. I've heard that you don't have many friends. Maybe my daughter is going to change that from today.”

I frown at her statement, leading Feya outside while Eli and Fawx follow us. I deliberately choose to sit away from Fawx so that Feya can talk freely.

“ So your mother dragged you here?” I'm already moody, and now I have been given a girl to interrogate. Fabulous.

She freezes at her place, looking everywhere but at me.

“ Umm….am… I….I waaanted….wanted to meet youuuu.” She said, nodding her head in enthusiasm.

“ I don't believe you.” I smile at Eli when he looks toward me, assuring him that I'm perfectly fine. Moving back to this new girl, I try to use my strict voice. “ I'm not in the mood for your lying games, Feya, so let's get straight to the point. Why are you here?”

“ I don't know what are you talkin…” I raise my hand to stop her.

“ Say the truth, or I will call the guards to throw you and your mother out of the castle. And I'm pretty sure my Daddy will make you pay for causing me trouble. So, decide wisely?”

She inhales deeply and starts speaking. “ Promise me you won't tell anything to my mother.”

“ I'm not promising you anything. Speak now or leave.”

Huffing in frustration, she relents. “ Fine. Mother forced me to come here to be your friend. I told her I didn't want to, but her friend Daedra convinced her that it would benefit us in the long run. Since the Dawn brothers are so smitten with you and if I became your friend then…..then they will….help us when we might need.”

“ What kind of need?”

“ I don't know.”

I frown at her incomplete information. I don't like this whole situation. People have made me their target to get revenge or gain favors from the brothers. Don't they have a life?

A yawn slips from my lips, making Eli get up from his seat to move toward me.

“ Guess it's nap time for our princess.” I nod while he picks me up.

“ I bet she had fun with Feya.” Eli ignores her and takes me inside while Zed leads them outside.

“ You didn't like her. Didn't you?” Eli asks, smiling, like he already knows that fact.

“ Her mother forced her to come here. She is working with this…umm…what was her name Dalay…. Dayla..no…daely… drdry…umm..I don't remember Eli…..I'm not exactly sure…..oh yes…Daedra! Yes, it was Daedra. Her mother is working with this woman, Daedra, to gain favors from you guys.”

“ I asked her what favors she was talking about, but she said she doesn't have any idea.”

Eli sighs irritated. When we reach my floor, Kai is standing outside my floor entrance. But before he can open his mouth, Eli shuts the door on his face.

“ Do you want to be her friend?” He asks.

I try to read his face, but it's blank, so I reply truthfully. “ I'm not sure, Eli. I don't know her. So I don't know if we are going to get along or not. Besides, I don't trust her mother and….”

“ Don't worry about her mother. If you want to be friends with her, we will take care of the rest.”

“ But Eli, her mother, wants to gain favors…” Eli interrupts me again. Rude.

“ Princess, when you hold power, everyone wants to be around you. Her mother is no different. I don't care what she wants. I only care what my princess wants. So tell me, do you want to be friends with her?”

I think for a minute. I mean, she wasn't bad and told the truth when I forced her a little, but that doesn't mean she can be trusted. I wish I had someone like Tod or Tod himself. Sighing, I reply honestly.

“ I don't know Eli. I don't trust her right now, and no friendship stays longer without trust.”

“ You're right. We will think about it later. Let's get you to bed now.”

—-----------------------------------------------------

“ You sure she said that name?”

“ Yes. That's what she mentioned. I don't know why Daedra has started to take interest in our family.”

“ Of course it's because of money. She needs it after all the facade her last husband created.”

“ Then why not include her nephew, Sesqi in it. Why Fawx and her daughter?”

“ Maybe because she doesn't want us to get suspicious.”

“ I don't like this drama. Why are these people using my pretty girl for their benefits?”

“ Because they have realized that you guys have a soft spot for her.” As my mind stirs back to consciousness, I start to recognize their voices.

I whine, turning toward my favorite scent, who so willingly pulls me closer to his body.

“ Go to sleep, baby. I love you.” He whispers in my ear.

I fall in and out of consciousness, occasionally catching their words while Daddy rubs the back of my head.

“ We are definitely raiding. I'm not taking any more risks to her safety.” Daddy says.

“ What about Fawx and her daughter?” Eli asks.

“ If, princess, wants to be her friend then…. We leave them with a warning and heavy penalty. Otherwise, she faces……”

“ ……being punished in the dungeon…..won't be alive longer….”

“ Did you catch them all?” I think it's Ronan, but I'm not sure. I try to stay awake but fall into a deep slumber after that.
