Chapter 58

Raelynn's Pov

“ Rey, Rey. Can you please read this story to me?” I ask sweetly as soon as I see him on the terrace doing crunches. Eli and Daddy have been busy doing whatever they usually do. So, I chose Rey Rey as my reading partner today.

“ Of course, princess. Come here.” I quickly approached him and laid down on his naked torso. He has the book in the air in front of us. “ Hmm. What is it about, princess?”

I shrug. “ I don't know Rey. I liked the cover of this one.”

“ Okay. Let's see then.” Turns out the book was an epic fail. It was about Et's history, which was way too boring for my liking. But since Rey was enjoying it, I let him continue, and I started to draw something for Zed.

Daddy told me he was leaving today to live with his father. I don't know how to feel about it. I don't want him gone, but Daddy said it's for good and a temporary thing.

I spent some time with Zed in the morning until he had to leave after a call from Leya. I've come to the realization that I can't force him to choose me if he doesn't want it.

So, I'm letting him go officially. Besides, Leya loves him more. Anyone could see that. I just didn't want to admit it. 

“ What are you drawing, baby?”

“ A picture of all of us for Zed so that he doesn't miss us a lot.” I replied, focused on my work. 

He got up to shift me to his lap since I was sitting on his abs. “ You like it?” I ask.

He has a serious expression on his handsome face. I want to know what's going on in his mind, but he distracts me with his kisses. I giggle when his beard grazes my sensitive neck. Instead of stopping, he continues.

“ Rey. REY!” I try to speak in between my laughter. “ It…tickles….”

“ Say you love me.” 

“ No.” The moment those words are out of my mouth, his fingers go to my sides. “ Rey….. don't…..please……”

“ Say you love me, baby.” His one hand is tightly clutching me to his body while the other is tormenting me. I jump and laugh loudly when he touches a more ticklish area.

“ Okay. Okay.” I try to catch my breath when he stops. “ I love you, Rey Rey.”

“ I love you more, princess.” He smacks his lips against my cheek and practically sucks it, making me giggle more.

“ Eww… Rey Rey.” I try to make a disgusting face but end up smiling more. 

So, I lick his cheek in retaliation, which ends in him licking my whole face. “ Rey. Rey. Don't.” His wet tongue slides to my neck where he blows raspberry kisses on my skin.

A message on his tab has us come out of our little bubble. “ Someone has a death wish.” He grumbles under his breath while I poke his nose, trying to distract him.

It works until he sees who is at the castle doors.

“ Who is he?” Feya asks from beside me. Daddy has been interrogating her mother in his office while Ronan volunteered to keep an eye on Feya.

From the moment Ronan entered my play room, she had been eyeing him with curiosity. I can understand her interest. Anyone with eyes and interest in men will like Ronan’s charming face. 

But he is more than his face, and people really need to see his soft, caring, and playful side, which I love the most.

But today, he is looking more intimidating than charming. He has been throwing daggers at her mother earlier, and now he is……

“ Rony bear, can you open this box of colors for me, please?” His eyes immediately softened for me.

“ If my berry is going to ask for something this sweet, how can I say no?” I blush at his praise. He presses his lips to the top of my head and helps me with the box.

“ Are these new?” Feya asks, interested.

“ Yes. Daddy bought it for me. We can share if you want.” She nods eagerly at my suggestion. 

“ Here you go, my berry. Have fun. I've to take a call. Just stay here, okay? And if you need me, just shout my name. Okay?” 

“ Okay.” He pecks my forehead and leaves the room. I can hear him from outside the door, talking on his tab.

“ You didn't tell me. Who is he?” She asks again.

Picking my new colors, I start to paint. “ He is Daddy’s best friend.”

“ Why is he here then?”

“ Why are you here? He came here to meet his friend, just like you.”

“ So we are friends now?” She jumps at this.

“ No.” I reply honestly. 

“ Then what are we?”

“ I don't know. Don't disturb me. I'm painting.” Thankfully, she stays quiet after that but not for longer.

“ So…. Why does Sir Ronan like you this much?”

I frown at her. “ What do you mean?”

“ I mean Dawn brothers like you because they are your guardians, but why Sir Ronan?” 

Honestly, I have no idea why he likes me, so I reply truthfully. “ I don't know why he likes me. He just does. And the brothers have always liked me, guardians or not.”

When she doesn't reply, I look up to see her examining me carefully. Oh God. I know that look very well. She is judging me. Yes, she is.

“ What?” I ask. Irritation is clear on my face and voice.

“ Nothing. I, now, understand why girls don't like you.”

“ Okay?”

“ They are jealous of you.” She concludes. I wanted to ask her if she felt the same way about me, but Rony Bear and Eli came in. With food. Yeah.

Eli sits me on his lap while Ronan cleans my hands in a bowl. I didn't even realize I was covered in paint from head to toe. Here goes my another dress. 

Nuzzling his nose with mine, Eli starts to feed me. “ Did my princess have fun today?”

“ Yes, Eli. I painted a lot.” I say with my mouth full, making him chuckle at me.

“ Berry, when are you drawing for me? I'm still waiting, you know.” I completely forgot that I had promised to draw something for Ronan.

“ Sorry, Rony bear. I forgot. I will draw something for you today.”

He smiles brightly, his dimples enhancing his features.

“ Why are you not eating, Feya? Don't you like it?” I ask her politely. 

“ Umm.. Mother won't like it.”

“ But she isn't here. And we don't know how long the meeting will go. You should eat. Neri makes the best food.” She hesitates a little but eventually caves in, smelling the delicious aroma of food, she gulps down everything.
