IT FELT LIKE THEY HAD BEEN RUNNING FOR hours. All night, and well into the next day. They pushed further into the woods, further into Grounder Territory as they followed the directions of the map. The group remained with sweat-filled bodies, faces flushed as they pushed their bodies well past their limits; they weren't stopping until they found their friends.
"Everyone, eyes peeled." Bellamy shouted out to them. "We're in Grounder Territory."
"Everything is Grounder Territory, alright?" Murphy huffed out as he stopped. "I can't keep running. We don't even know if the guy Finn killed was telling the truth."
Finn whirled on him, pushing him forward. "Keep moving."
Bellamy looked towards him. "We can give him a minute."
A minute that they all needed.
"No, we can't." Finn shook his head. "You heard what that Grounder said. They'll outlive their usefulness."
"I heard what he said when you had a gun to his head." Bellamy said.
"A few minutes before you used that gun to kill him." Waverly added. "You made a mess of Grounder brains all over your bunker."
"Look, you think I wanted to do that?!" Finn shouted back, his eyes narrowed. "He would have told his people we're coming, and by the time we got there, our people would be dead. Maybe that's something you can live with, but I can't!"
Bellamy pushed Finn back. "Hey, you did what you think you had to do, but you are not yourself right now, and I can't be out here with another loose cannon."
"No kidding." Hazel muttered out. "Murphy's enough."
Murphy rolled his eyes. "I can hear you."
"Guys." Monroe quickly said, pointing her gun up as she nodded towards what was in front of them. A trail of bodies that were spread around the area, the soft buzzing of flies. The smell hit them quickly. Waverly coughed out at the stench of rotting flesh.
"Fall in." Bellamy said, his attention quickly going from Finn to what they just walked into. They slowly walked further into the area, finding nearly a hundred corpses lying around.
"Where the hell did they come from?" Murphy asked.
"From the Ark." Hazel said, gulping with the answer. She looked around at the bodies. They weren't mutilated by the Grounders, they were just dead. No arrows, no spears, no touch of Grounders at all.
At the edge of a rocky cliff heading down into a gorge, the answer was clear as they saw all that remained of Factory Station.
"It's...It's Factory Station." Hazel said, recognising it. She turned her head, looking towards Bellamy. It was the station he was from, along with most of them. Murphy, Monroe, and Sterling also hailed from Factory. Jasmine technically did too, being Murphy's sister.
