WAVERLY WOKE UP IN A CAGE.
Her body was still burning from the process the Mountain Men put them through. The stripping of her undergarments as they blasted her with boiling water, and whatever came after that as they scrubbed her clean. Her neck was still sore from the metal cuffed collar they had around, jerking her around to their desire.

It was what Lincoln had warned them of.

She panicked as she woke up, the cramped space alerting her body into a fight mode. She pushed up, her legs kicking out as her hands grasped the sides of the square cage. It was small, too small- It reminded her of her cell on the Ark, a place she hated. The only relief of that cell had been Harper, and Harper wasn't there.

She remembered Sam's words and thought of how her friend could already be dead.

"Bellamy?" Waverly croaked out, her eyes fluttering as she looked around, knowing he was in there too. Somewhere. She turned, relaxing as she realised he was in the cage next to hers. She turned to the side, pushing her fingers through the bars, tapping on his arm as she woke him up.

He pushed up, looking towards her with wide eyes, slowly taking in the predicament the two found themselves in. Getting locked in cages with the other Grounder blood bags wasn't exactly part of their plan. He started pushing against the door to his cage, trying to pull the lock off.

"Shof op." The Grounder who was in the cage on Bellamy's other side hissed over. Waverly turned, looking towards the woman. She appeared to be around their age. "Emo hon daun mou yujon."

"I can't." Bellamy shook his head, "I don't understand you."

"Sky Person?" She moved to the edge of her cage, glaring as Bellamy nodded his head. She quickly responded by spitting in his face.

Waverly let out a soft laugh. "I don't think she likes us," she mused.

Bellamy didn't find it as entertaining. "I take it no one has told you we're not enemies anymore." He wiped the spit from his face. "I need to get out of this cage."

"And then what?" The girl asked.

"And then I'll kill everyone in this mountain." Bellamy returned to trying to pry his cage open.

Waverly shifted more, looking at the Grounder. She noticed the bandages that covered her, knowing she had already had her blood taken at one point. By the looks of it, multiple points. "My name's Waverly. He's Bellamy. What's yours?"

She hesitated, looking towards Waverly. "Echo," she said after a moment, a flicker in her eyes as she did.

"It's nice to meet you, Echo." Waverly kept up her smile. "Our people are working with yours to get your people and ours out of this mountain."
