ALARMS BLARED IN THE TUNNELS, BRINGING life to where Jasmine and Octavia were sitting. After the retreat horn was blown, the tunnels were quickly emptied of the Grounders. Most of the Sky People who were left in the tunnels went as well. All except for them, the two stayed together and waited.
As far as they knew, their friends were still inside that mountain, and they weren't going anywhere until they got them out.
The two jumped up, turning towards the door. Instead of the door opening at the alarm, something came dropping in through a chute into a metal cart. The two turned, peering inside the cart to find a body.
"Fox." Octavia muttered out at the sight of their friend.
Jasmine's eyes softened at the sight, almost feeling sick at the sight of her nearly naked friend being discarded down into the mines. She looked to the bruises and blood that covered her mutilated body, pale from the extractions that killed her.
At the sound of pounding footsteps, they turned behind. Octavia quickly held up her sword, holding the single tone generator they had in the other. Jackson had left it behind for them when they chose to stay. Jasmine lifted her gun, looking forward as she expected either Mountain Men or Reapers to come out.
She wasn't expecting friends. Well, friend and Clarke. Hazel and she came running through the tunnels, both also seemed to have ignored the retreat. At the sight of them, Jasmine knew they made the right choice. Jasmine watched the hard expression over Hazel's face, noticing she looked between terrified and pissed.
Clarke looked towards them. "Octavia. Jasmine. You stayed."
"Screw you, of course we stayed." Octavia spat back towards her. "I know where my loyalties lie."
"Okay, how about we argue later, get in now?" Hazel muttered out, her brown eyes flickered up towards the door. In the way her eyes were dangerously narrowed, Jasmine could tell something had completely flipped in her. This was beyond her being desperate to save Sam.
Clarke walked towards the door. "We have to get in there."
Octavia pulled her arm, gesturing to the cart where Fox's body was. "If that was possible, do you think we'd still be out here?"
"What happened?" Jasmine asked, "why did Lexa blow the retreat?"
"She made a deal with Mount Weather." Clarke said coldly as she marched towards the door. "Freed the grounders, and now we're on our own."
"What?" Jasmine whispered out, taking in that the alliance was over.
