Chapter 1
You're way too late

•About a week later•

Yakuza Village
Amaya's house

Amaya looked at her painting, wondering what was missing. She peacefully stared at the colors and design. She loved painting plants the most. They were her best sellers. She sighed deeply, unable to find the missing piece. As she put the brush down, Yoru came home. Amaya stood up, smiling at him. She walked to him with open arms. "You're back early," she hugged him tightly.

Yoru's daily stress left his body instantly. "I'll go out again later," he said, holding her close. "How was your day?" he asked gently, pecking her temple.

The couple pulled away. Yoru took his shoes and jacket off. Their house was spacious and modern. It was hard for Amaya, but she finally agreed to move into the Yakuza Village.

。。。。。
For the first time, Amaya walked into the YV. She was next to Kali, looking around. "This is... gigantic," she commented. "You have a park? A lake?" She looked around the very traditional yet luxurious streets. "Temple? You telling me everyone here is a criminal?"

Kali chuckled. She was too excited to show her friend where she lived. "Not everyone is a criminal. But everyone related to one, at least. But you're more than safe here. Everyone already knows you."

"That's scary," Amaya looked around. People looked friendly and calm.
Kali grabbed Amaya's arm, dragging the painter to walk faster. "It's going to be so much fun! My house is by the lake. Yoru is getting the new one two streets away from mine!" she said excitedly.

Amaya could already see how convenient it was to be close to her best friend. "Ok... I admit that it's cool," she grinned. "We can visit each other so much more!"

Kali was delighted. The engagement was the best news she could have received. "You don't understand how happy I am! And if your parents want, we can build a house for them in the village. They won't have to pay any rent. Just the electricity," Kali explained, making Amaya's smile fade.

As expected, her parents were against it. Who would encourage their daughter to marry a criminal? "Yeah," Amaya chuckled. We'll see about that."
。。。。。

"Well," Amaya started. "Your mother came to eat at noon. Then I spent the afternoon trying to finish this," she said lightly, pointing at the painting. "How about you?"

Yoru walked in further, looking at the canvas. "I love it," he complimented. He always did. He was honest. "Who is it for?"

Amaya chuckled. Her clients were demanding, but they paid the price. "An actor from Singapore," she replied.

Yoru hummed. "If he doesn't want it, I'll take it," he suggested.

Amaya rolled her eyes. "Baby, please!" She chuckled, lightly slapping his toned arm. "Anyway..." She turned back, heading to the kitchen. "Your mother dropped your dinner... Wait. There were a lot of cars earlier. Who visited?"

Yoru was still looking at the painting. "Huh? Ah. The Korean Mafia."

Amaya blinked. "Oh. So... Aren't you going to see your friends?" she asked, dropping the plate on the kitchen counter.

Yoru turned, looking at her. "I will. I wanted to come home to you first," he smiled. Yoru walked to her, pulling her by the waist and guiding her to the couch. "Are you asking for Kali?" he asked with a smirk on.
