Chapter 8
How many rooms are there?• The next day •
Haneda Airport, Tokyo
Departure LevelHaemi had her arms crossed, her foot tapping on the floor while JK Face-timed his brother. "Hyung..."
Ian was wearing sunglasses that were low on his nose. He squinted, looked at the screen, and sat in the tub. "What is it, Jake?" he asked, showing his irritability. He was relaxing in the hot tub when his phone rang. He did not want to be bothered unless it was an emergency, and JK knew that well. "Did you miss your flight?"
JK eyed Haemi. She grabbed the phone, frowning at Ian. "Tell me how many beds are in that house, Pedoppa," she ordered.
Ian lifted his glasses. "Hello to you too, Haemi," he chuckled.
Haemi frowned even more. "Oppa. How many rooms? Tell me now!"
Ian was laughing sinisterly. He turned around, hearing Kali walk to the hot tub. "Gotta go, peace," he said, hanging up and welcoming Kali into his arms. "My baby..."
JK side-eyed Haemi. She was fuming. "I should have known..." she mumbled when she saw the group. "I'm sleeping on the couch," she sighed.
Yoru and Amaya were there. And then, Kazuo and Naomi. Ian planned it all. This trip would be his personal matchmaking amusement park.
Naomi was also stressed. "Surely... JK and Kazuo will bunk together..." the agent tried to reassure Haemi. And we can share a bed, right?"
Kazuo and JK looked at each other. "Do you want a murder to happen?" Kazuo asked.
JK laughed, shaking his head. "I don't trust you either," he hissed.
Yoru was silently laughing. "Good old Ian. This trip will be fun," he said while Amaya clapped her hands together.
"I can't wait! My favorite show!" she joked in Yoru's ear.
In the plane
Kazuo sat next to Naomi, according to Ian's evil plan. She barely looked at him, not daring to start a conversation. He kept his eyes closed and his arms crossed, trying to sleep. The first-class seats were comfortable, but he didn't like being unarmed. That was why he preferred using a private jet. Naomi glanced at him, wondering how she could help. Kazuo suddenly opened his eyes, making her jump. "Sorry!" she stuttered.
Kazuo stretched, looking at her. "You good?"
Naomi nodded. "Yes. Thank you," she insisted.
Kazuo looked at her, chuckling. "How did you agree to this?" He wondered. "With your anxiety, I don't know how you handle your job," he mocked her.
Naomi frowned. "Well... I don't have anxiety... It's just you," she defended.
Kazuo laughed more, slumping into his seat. "I'm flattered," he joked. "I thought you got over it back then. But then you became distant again," he said, a peculiar tone in his voice. Even though they agreed it wouldn't happen again, he didn't expect her to be that cold.
