Chapter 4
I'm happy for you

•The next day •

Ginza, Tokyo
Kota's gym

Kota aggressively punched the coach's pads, repeatedly groaning at every hit. His punches were so loud that all the other fighters stopped to stare at him. At the coach's signal, Kota gave his last few hits. He noticed the crowd he had created, hearing a few people applaud. "You tire me out, Kota," the coach complained, massaging his shoulder.

Kota chuckled. It was a hidden compliment. "You're getting old, Keisuke," he teased. He took his training gloves off and walked out of the cage. He sat on the bench, relaxing his muscles for a bit. He noticed the notification on his phone.

Sora has posted on their story!

Kota picked the mobile up and checked the story. Kali had posted a selfie. Kota recognized the background and smiled as he watched Kali walk in. She quietly greeted everyone and walked towards Kota. "What a good surprise," Kota smiled.

Kali sat beside him, under the eyes of other fighters. She smiled anxiously. She had practiced her speech the whole night, but it was hard. "You... You don't have anything planned for today, right?" she asked.

Kota smiled at her, finding her cute. "I have a lot of things to do, beautiful. And I finish late. But if you have nothing to do, I'd love to have you tag along," he suggested.

Kali bit her lip. "Sounds good," she tried to smile. "Are you almost done here?"

Kota nodded. "Yeah. I'll go shower," he stood up. "I'll be right back," he warned, walking to the lockers.

Azabu, Tokyo
Dynasty Hospital

Haemi stepped out of intense four-hour surgery. She washed her hands thoroughly, proud of herself. Once again, her team and she saved a life. After cleaning herself, she walked into the hallway, looking for her patient's family. The two parents stood up, anxiously looking at her. Haemi gave a reassuring smile. "Your daughter will be alright," she said. She watched the parents cry in relief.

"Thank you, doctor Park... Thank you so much," the mother spoke, pulling Haemi into a tight embrace.

Haemi blinked a little before she softened, hugging the woman back. How rewarding? She smiled, pulling away. "The surgery was a success. She will need to rest, of course. She will wake up soon."

After speaking to the parents more, they left to see their daughter in the walking room. Haemi took a deep breath, excitement filling her body. She watched them until she noticed the tall figure in the hallway.
JK was looking at the scene from afar, wearing a black suit. He stood with hands in his pockets, staring at her. Haemi froze. They stared at each other before Haemi broke the eye contact, spinning to head to her team's room. JK chuckled and walked to follow her. She opened the transparent door and was welcomed by her colleagues. JK followed. "Hi again," he said to Haemi's colleagues.
The other doctors smiled at him. "Welcome back, Mr. Yu!" one said. "Park, have you met him?"

Haemi nodded, sitting in her chair. She crossed her legs. "I have. Why is he here, though?" she asked, not looking at him.

The doctors explained that JK wanted to sign more contracts and send more money to the hospital. However, his conditions were to watch. He claimed that he needed to inspect what he was investing in. JK sat by Haemi, smiling at her like a kid. "It seems your father can't say no to me now," he shrugged proudly. He spoke quietly but still used Korean to ensure no one would listen.
