Chapter 16
Keep pissing me off

Azabu, Tokyo
Dynasty Hospital

JK smoked a cigarette by the entrance, looking at his watch when Ian, Kali, and Yoru arrived. JK frowned, seeing Ian limping, helped by Yoru. "What the fuck happened?" he asked, rushing to them.

Ian reassured him. "I'm fine. I shouldn't even be here..." he rolled his eyes.

Kali insisted on bringing him here and used the excuse of Yoru going there to meet with JK. "He was in a fight. Haemi's here, right? I don't want to wait in line. I want her to tell me if he's fine," she explained, looking up at JK.

Ian chuckled. "I'm not the one you should be worrying about," he teased. Kota and his team were taken to another hospital. Despite Ken wanting them dead, Ian and Kazuo decided keeping him alive would be less trouble.

JK looked in the empty lobby. "Haemi's here, yes. But..." he was bothered. It looked like Kali didn't know about the new deal with the hospital—or lack of a deal. "Yeah, she's there. Go..."

Ian's head tilted, feeling something was wrong. He looked behind, looking at the parking lot. "What is..." His eyes squinted and traveled fast in the empty streets.

"Is something wrong?" Kali asked, looking at the empty lot.

Ian kept his eyes on the cars. He felt something but couldn't put a finger on it yet. "Nothing. Let's go and get this over with," he said, leaning more on Yoru.

The tall Yakuza apologized to JK. "That's why I'm late," he chuckled. "Let's go."

In his car, Danzen hid, cursing. "Too close..." he commented, feeling like he had met Ian's piercing gaze. He didn't dare look again until after JK was already gone with Yoru. He carefully followed their car, keeping a safe distance.

Haemi directed the lamp into Ian's eyes, checking the response. He had blood in one, but she reassured Kali that he wouldn't need surgery. She treated his wounds carefully under the eyes of the worried Yakuza. "He's going to be fine," she lazily said. "Now, can I know what happened?"

Ian stood from the patient's chair. "Are we good to go, love?" he asked Kali, showing sarcasm.

Kali sighed. "He fought with Kota. Like a child," she commented, glaring at him.
Ian raised an eyebrow. "I fought with a guy who broke into where you live and tried to hurt you," he corrected.

Haemi looked at the two. "What?! Well..."
"Sending him off would have been enough!" Kali interrupted with a bitter tone. "But you had to show off like this... You did too much..."

Ian scoffed. "Do I have to remind you how this all happened?"

Kali scoffed as well. "Didn't you enjoy that? You looked like you were!"

Haemi cleared her throat. "Ok... I'm going to go. Here's your meds prescription." She gave Ian a piece of paper, escaping the couple's argument. Haemi sighed, closing the door." and walked into the hallway, wondering where JK had left.

Asakusa, Tokyo
Park Mansion

After Ian was dropped at the hospital, Yoru took JK to the park mansion. They would join Mitsuya, who was also late due to the break-in. "Are you sure the kid isn't there?" JK asked one last time, standing by the front yard of the Park Mansion.
