Chapter 34
Nat's POV

The next morning I had gone off to recruit training again while Claire went to the gym. I completed paperwork like usual afterwards and then made my way over to the residential building that afternoon. I was now sitting on my balcony reading a book and enjoying the sun going down.

I should get Claire, she would enjoy watching the sunset.

Now I think of it I hadn't actually heard from Claire in about two hours. She was sitting with me earlier but left to go swim some laps. It was almost dinner time so I made my way downstairs to find Claire.

Nat- I was thinking of ordering takeout tonight, what would you like? - 1812

Surely she couldn't still be swimming?

It wasn't like Claire to not reply to my messages so I walked around looking for her.

She must just be distracted with something, she is fine. She has to be.

I kept trying to convince myself that she was ok and that was just busy and hadn't seen my message. But as time went on I started to worry.

Nat- where are you? 1831

I had even asked Friday if she knew where Claire was but Friday said she couldn't seem to locate her which was stressing me out.

Nat- Claire? -1836

Nat- missed call -1838
Claire answer your phone -1839

Nat- seriously detka. -1841
Missed call. -1842
Claire this isn't funny. -1854
You're scaring me. 1903
Missed call. -1908

I didn't know what to do. I had absolutely no clue where Claire was. I went to try call her again when a messaged popped up.

Claire- I am so so sorry Nat. My phone was turned off. I didn't even realise the time. -1911

Nat- where are you? - 1911

Claire- the roof. -1912

The roof? What was she doing in the roof?

Nat- Stay there I'm coming up. -1913

I ran straight up to the stairs leading to the roof. When I opened the door I was hit by a nice warm evening breeze. It was nice outside at the time of year at the moment. I spotted Claire sitting on the edge of the roof. Panic set in as I truly didn't understand why she was up here and way she was so close to the edge. She heard me and turned her head smiling at me.

"What the hell claire?" I said annoyed. "You scared the hell out of me. I didn't know where you were for over two hours, you weren't answering my messages or my phone calls and then I didn't know why you were up here". I sat down next to her.
"I am truly sorry for causing you so much stress. I didn't mean to scare you. I honestly didn't realise how long I had been up here" she answered .
"Why are you up here? Is everything ok?".
"I'm fine I promise. I used to come up here when I first got here just to think. I shouldn't have turned my phone off I'm sorry". She said with a sad smile.
"It's ok sweetheart. If you need some time to yourself that's completely ok just let me know next time so I don't freak out and think something has happened to you" I say putting my arm around her shoulders.
"It's so nice to have someone worry about me" Claire smiled "I spent so long just looking after myself and having no one else that it's such a good feeling to be cared for".
"I know exactly what you mean Claire" I said as she leant on my shoulder. "Now can we go downstairs and order dinner I'm starving?"
"Yes please I'm so hungry" she laughed.
