Chapter 61
Claire's POV

I was in the gym early this morning training with Yelena. We were currently sparring in the ring. Yelena wouldn't admit it but she was missing training with Nat since the attack. I was laying on the ground after tripping on my own two feet while we were fighting, Yelena was laughing at me from the other side of the ring.

Nat walked in and was looking at us with an amused face.

"What's so funny" she asked

"I may or may not have tripped over" I said standing up. "I'll never confirm it though.

"Rosewood you fell flat on your ass and I didn't have to lift a finger" Yelena chimed in.

"Well I wish I had gotten here sooner to see that" Nat laughed.

"Trust me you didn't miss anything" I smiled back.

I walked over to the edge of the ring leaning over the ropes to look at Nat.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Come to join you silly" Nat laughed.

I crouched down so I was eye level with Nat.

"Are you sure you're feeling up to it. If you are still in pain it's ok to wait a little longer" I suggested quietly knowing Nat wouldn't like other people to hear.

"I'm fine I promise" Nat smiled up at me. "I'll just train lightly".

Nat moved over to another corner of the gym and started stretching. I stayed where I was for a second watching her, worried she was going to push herself too hard.

"Come one Claire, you're taking forever" Yelena called from behind me.

"You're so impatient" I laughed.

I've learnt a lot since I first arrived here. I had been trained in fighting with hydra but with the help of the others, Nat mostly, my fighting skills were now almost equal to hers. Every time I sparred with Yelena I could see the similarities in hers and Nat's fight skills, with their past this was expected of course. This gave me some sort of an advantage when Yelena and I sparred, I had trained with Nat almost daily and could anticipate Yelena next move most of the time.

After a few minutes of back and forth sparing I swiped my foot underneath yelena and she fell straight to the ground with a thud. Standing back up myself I reached my hand out for her to grab and pulled her up to her feet.

"I'm impressed Claire, I didn't think you had it in you to take me down" Yelena laughed.

"My skills seem to be very underestimated around here all the time" I laughed back.

I made my way over to where Nat was walking on a treadmill. As I approached her I noticed the small limp in her walk occasionally. Of course she was trying to hide it.

"Please don't push yourself. I know you're still in pain. I notice it when you get changed and when you move in bed" I said stepping up on the treadmill next to her.

"It's ok, it's barely anything and I will just take it easy for a little bit" she smiled back.

We talked for a while while walking on the treadmills. We mainly discussed our schedules over the next few days, trying to line up some free time together. I asked Nat a few questions in regards to the attack, something didn't seem right to me about it all and I wanted more information. Nat mentioned Sarah the recruit again, as Nat spoke I fixated on the details she was telling me about this Sarah.

If no one else knew of the imminent attack because hydra had taken out all technological defences then how did this recruit know?

Sarah seemed suspicious to me. I tried to ask Nat more about her but when I mentioned the fact that she knew something everyone else didn't She shut me down saying it wasn't even a possibility that Sarah was behind the attack. I left it at that, not wanting to push the subject but my mind was in over drive thinking about it all.
