Chapter 7
Nat's POV

I was up early like usual. I had half expected Claire to be back in the gym this morning but she was no where to be seen. I completed my usual workout alone and then headed back to my room to shower. I hoped Claire would be to training with them all tomorrow. I knew Steve was not happy with me again about this whole Claire situation.

As I was making my way to my room I walked over the pool. I was walking on the glass suspended bridge that went over the pool connecting the gym to the rest of the building. She could see Claire swimming laps below. She looked good. She looked strong. Gliding through the water at a fast paced. She did say she loved swimming. I shook the thoughts from my mind and continued on my way.

Claire's POV.
I was loving being able to swim. I finally felt like me again.
I had been swimming for some time now so decided to go get ready for the day. I had nothing on my schedule today as Steve had given me today and the last two days off because he knew having me and Natasha in the gym together again while I was so angry wasn't the best idea. I wanted to read. So I thought you would take a walk to the library, pick out a book and go sit under a tree outside and read.

There were so many books to choose from. I didn't even know where to start. I finally found a book I had been wanting to read and took that outside along with a bottle of water and a picnic rug. I found the large tree by the lake I had seen when I first arrived here and sat under it. The sun was warm on my skin but under the shade of the tree it nice and cool. The breeze was cool and the lake was still. Once I had been out here for some time I decided to head inside and find Kate and Yelena. I felt like I had been ignoring them and wanted to spend time with them again.

Nat's POV
I was completing paperwork in my office. I liked my office. There were big windows that let in lots of sunshine and it over looked the lake. My favourite thing to do while i was often stuck doing mission reports and shield agent training schedules and feedback was to sit and look out at the lake. Today was like any day as I sat at my large desk working on the reports and looking up every now and then at the view outside my window.

I had seen something move out there in the corner of my eye. It was Claire.

What was she doing?

She sat under a tree on a picnic rug with a book in hand and began to read. After some time I realised I was no longer admiring the lake but the girl who sat by it. She seemed peaceful.

Why did it hurt so much to know I'm the one that upset her? why did the tears in her eyes and the anger on her face that night she shared the details of her life still hang around my thoughts.

I tried to keep going with my work. I would get little bits done and then notice I had been distracted looking at Claire again. I gave up for the day and decided to find something else to do. Giving one last glance towards the scene outside my office window.

Claire's POV
I had spent most of the day with Yelena and Kate. We watched movies. Ate junk food. Laughed all day. And most importantly just had fun. It felt normal.

It was close to dinner time so I went to the kitchen to see Wanda. We had a great chat while I helped her finish the cooking she had started.

After dinner I ended up back in Kate's room with her and yelena. There was a movie on in the background but you were all concentrating on the game of monopoly in front of you.

"Cyka. You must be cheating" Yelena directed to Kate.

"It's not my fault I'm just better at this game than you" she responded.

I just laughed at the two.

In the end Kate did won and Yelena wasn't happy about it.

"What do you say to a sleep over girls?" Asked Kate.
