Chapter 12

Chapter 12
Nat's POV

I smiled when I walked into my room. I had a really nice few hours hanging out with Claire. I hated letting my gaurd down and most importantly hated letting my walls down for anyone. But for some reason Claire was different. I wanted to try more for her. Try be more open and try let her in. It scared me though,  the way I felt towards Claire so quickly.

I had just had just had shower to warm up after being in the rain. I could see my phone light up on the bed as I walked out of the bathroom.

Lena- is there something going on between you and Claire? -1712
I thought you didn't like her? -1713

Nat- Claire is my friend. Yes I had issues with her when she got here because I didn't know if I could trust her or not. But I do trust her now. -1731

Lena- I just don't normally see you laughing and smiling like you were. -1733

Nat- we had a fun day. I'm allowed to laugh Yelena. -1733

lena- I like that you're having fun. It's just not normally what you're like. It's a good thing. -1734
Do you like her? -1736

Nat- I don't even know if she likes girls Lena.
But it doesn't matter either way anyway because she's just my friend. -1738

Lena- sounds like you might want something more than just friends. -1738

Nat- just drop it Lena. -1742

Lena- you know you can tell me anything right. I won't go spill your secrets. -1742

Nat- there's nothing to tell. -1744

Lena- sure there isn't. -1744
I'm going to go get ice cream. I'll see you at dinner. -1745

I knew I was lying to my sister. I really did have feelings for Claire. but I just didn't know how Claire felt about me.

That night after dinner I went straight to bed. I was exhausted and actually fell asleep fairly quickly which was uncommon for me.

Like most nights I was out of breath and sweaty from the nightmare that just woke me up. I looked in the mirror of my bathroom after splashing some water in my face, I looked tired.
After I fixed my hair I made my way down stairs where Claire was already sitting waiting for me with a cup of tea.

There was something about this now familiar routine that gave me comfort.
We both sat next to each other at the counter like we had almost every night.
"Alright I need another fact for a fact" I suddenly said.
"Oh so now you like this whole getting to know one another thing" claire smiled.
"I'll go first again. I am actually really good a ballet. It's something we get taught. Well more like forced to do, in the red room. I hate it most of the time actually. But there are some days where I just dance and dance and dance for hours on end and just loosing myself in the moment" I confessed.
"I would love to see you dance one day" Claire said.
"Maybe one day".
I paused.
"Alright your turn".
"I play the piano. I know exactly what you mean about getting lost for hours just focusing on what you're doing. As soon as I had escaped hydra I started teaching myself how to play. Just one of those things I always wanted to do" Claire explained.
"Well I would love to hear you play one day Claire" I smiled.
"I'll trade you a piano concert for a dance recital" Claire joked.
"You've got yourself a deal" I  smiled back.
