A/N - IF YOU HAVENT READ THE FIRST ONE YET I HIGHLY SUGGEST IT! LOVE YALL

A person's wedding day should've been the best day of their life, or definitely one of the top three, but for Aru Shah, her wedding day was anything but.

She looked at herself in the mirror, distraught.

Her face was covered in heavy make up, making Aru look nothing like herself. Her grandmother had asked the make up artist to make Aru a few shades lighter because she was "too dark" and because "the people like to see a fair girl not a dark one". So now, her chestnut coloured skin was painted a light tan, much to her displeasure.

A dark burgundy lipstick was put on her lips, matching her wine red bridal lehenga which felt too heavy and itchy for her to stand the whole day with it on.

A part of her couldn't wrap her head around the fact she was getting married to the worst person Aru had ever known, Navdeep Singh.

She guessed they got along when they were younger, but their relationship was greatly hindered when she found out Navdeep was an addict and sold drugs when they were in high school. Aru tried telling her grandmother but she kept saying "It was the past. He's changed now, Arundhati."

Whatever. It's not like-

She was drawn out of her thoughts when a knock came at the door.

Aru sighed exasperatedly, "Yes, come in Nani."

"It's not your grandma."

She turned around to see Aiden Acharya. The photographer for her wedding. A very handsome photographer at that.

"Sorry," said Aru unsympathetically. "What do you want?"

"Your grandma asked me to take a few shots before-" Aiden stopped adjusting his camera lens and took a good look at Aru. "Are you okay?"

"No," said Aru flatly. "But it's whatever. So are you going to take the pictures or not?"

Aiden rolled his eyes lightly but lifted the camera to his eyes and took a few pictures. After he was done, he scrolled through the pictures and frowned. "You don't look happy."

"Because I'm not, so please just take the damn pictures and leave." snapped Aru.

Aiden's eyes turned cold as Aru realised what she had said. "I'm sorry I'm just-"

"At least act like your happy," he shot back. "Your grandmother wants this album to be perfect."

"Of course she does," muttered Aru.

Aiden looked at her quizzically, "Do you not want to get married?"

"Finally, you're getting a hold of things," said Aru sarcastically.

"Cut the crap, Shah," said Aiden. His eyes shifted before asking, "But why don't you want to?"

"None of your business, camera man," said Aru. "And who told you to call me Shah?"

"Isn't that your last name?" asked Aiden.

"Unfortunately, that's going to change in a few hours," said Aru, looking at Aiden. "Unless you want me to take yours instead."

"Please," snorted Aiden. "You would never."

"I would," said Aru inching closer to him. "So, will you help me?"

"Hell no." said Aiden adjusting his camera lens again.

Aru sighed, "At least I tried."

"You never said why." said Aiden. "If you tell me, I might help you."

Aru rolled her eyes. "Fine. My soon-to-be husband is a crackhead and I would rather die than get married to that loser."

"Damn." said Aiden. "Haven't you told your grandma?"

"You think I haven't tried?" asked Aru. "She just thinks I'm being unreasonable."

"She's only doing the best for you," said Aiden.

"No," said Aru. "She's doing what's best for herself. She always does."

"Sounds like my dad," muttered Aiden.

Aru hummed teasingly. "Looks like someone's got daddy issues."

"Shut up," he said before looking up at her. "Anyway, I'll help you."

Aru's eyes widened. "For real? But why?"

"When your parents have an unhealthy relationship, it messes the kids up," said Aiden. "Trust me. I speak from experience."

Aru laughed, "Well then. What are we waiting for?"

Aiden grinned, grabbed Aru's hand and the two of them shot off the balcony.

"THIS IS NOT HOW I EXPECTED ESCAPING BUT WHATEVERRRRRRRR!"
