Aurora's pov

I woke up feeling warm and safe. I've never felt this comfortable in my entire life. I snuggle deeper into my pillow.... Pillow? But why does the pillow seem so damn hard?
My eyes snap wide open a gasp escapes my lips.

I quickly placed my hand over my mouth to muffle the sound.
How on earth did I end up here, next to him?
I try to scramble away from Roman who has his arm around me in a vice.
I freeze when his eyelids fly wide open.

"Going somewhere, mate?" he asked in a groggy voice.
I nodded. Pointing towards the bathroom.
He sighed, slowly removing his hand from my waist.

Without wasting another second I got off the bed and bolted into the bathroom making sure to  lock the door behind me.

My heart is pounding and my blood boiling with fury. For a moment, all I could do is just stand in front of the mirror and stare at my reflection.

"You're done!" his husky voice spoke, knocking on the door, bringing me back to reality.

I couldn't understand what was going on with Roman. One minute he loathed me and then next minute he wants to accept the bond and act as if everything between us is normal.

I quickly splashed some water onto my face and took in a deep breath. I needed to calm my racing heart down before I end up having a bloody damn heart attack with the way Roman's behaving towards me.

I grab the door knob, twisting it around. When I open the door I'm relieved. Roman's gone.

"Goodmorning Aurora" Hailey's raspy voice startles me.
There's nothing good about this morning. I scoffed, glaring at her.
Her brows puckered in confusion. What's the matter? You seem a little cranky. She mused.

You bet I am. Why did you bring me into the alpha's room?
Confusion was etched on her face.
But this isn't his room. And I would have told you if I did but I didn't bring you here.

Are you sure?
Yes, I'm certain. Why what's going on?
I shook my head. Nothing, I guess it's just a misunderstanding.

Roman's pov

The leaves crunched beneath my feet. I narrowed my eyes, hands tucked into my pants pocket, as my warriors in their wolf form continued to scout the forest. We were deep in the forest which I own.

I was alerted by the border patrol that rogues were roaming near my territory. Which seemed incredibly impossible considering the fear I sent.

"We lost their scent, alpha" one of the warriors said as they began shifting into their human form.
I sniffed the air and was certain they were gone but this doesn't mean they wouldn't return.

I've never actually had rogues roam my land before, well maybe once but after I made an example of what I'd do to them if they happen to step into my territory, they never again took a chance.

I have a feeling this isn't just a coincidence, a rogue suddenly shows up on the day of the Luna Ceremony?
No, there's definitely something going on and I have this nagging feeling it has something to do with Michael, my wolf even agrees with me.

Just to be cautious I want you all to scout the entire forest before the Ceremony begins.
The all nod in unison, slowly making their way back to their posts.

"The elders are waiting for you, alpha" my gamma informed me from behind me.

I turned and began to exit the forest, eager to get done and over with the Ceremony.

I've never tolerated weakness. I've always prided myself on perfection, made a man out of myself when I watched my parents being  brutally killed in front of my eyes and now I'm about to be bound to the same woman who's father snatched away my families happiness.

Aurora is nothing but a weakling, she doesn't even have a wolf which makes it much worse for the pack and myself. She's going to be my weakness
but what choice do I have? Other than to accept the mate bond which I cannot resist.

Eversince I captured her and realized she's my mate, I couldn't stop thinking about her. I tried to forget that she ever existed but it was becoming difficult.

After meeting with elders and making  sure everything's set for tonight. I thereafter made my way to my office to find my brother, Damien comfortably seated on my chair.

I scowled. What do you think you're doing?

Damien grinned slowly rising from the chair.
His Cheshire grin, wild eyes and sadistic expression reminded me of our father.
My father, the previous alpha was widely feared, he was a savage beast.

Is that how you welcome your brother? He pouted.

I ignored him and pushed past him, settling on my chair.
What are you doing here?

"I heard what happen to Ryan and I must say it was stupid of him to do something like that"

I assumed you'd hate me for throwing him in the dungeons and stripping him off his title as beta.

"Of course not. I completely agree with what you've done however I hope this lesson would teach him not to do it the next time"

There won't be a next time.

Damien raises a brow. "So you're just going to leave him there to rot?"

I sighed, crossing my arms. No, I plan on executing him. Ryan has been interacting with humans. The very first rule which he has broken. Humans aren't supposed to know of our existence.

He's been abducting the she wolves from our pack and auctioning them to the humans.

That's outrageous. If I were you I would've killed him the very second I discovered what he was doing!
