Aurora's pov

We've finally arrived at the crescent moon pack and I'm nervous and afraid, afraid I might see Michael here.
"You okay little mate?" Roman spoke braking my thoughts.

Yes I am. I shrugged faking a smile.

"You don't seem like it. I can tell by the look on your face and the way you're shaking that you're afraid"

How could I forget he can sense my emotions through the mate bond.

He let out a sigh. "Don't be scared little mate, I'm here nobody's going to hurt you" He assured me placing a kiss on my forehead.

"Alpha Roman" A middle aged man with salt and pepper hair and pale blue eyes greeted Roman.

I'm glad to see you're here and who is this young lady? The man asked his eyes drifting towards me.

Roman snaked his arm around my waist. "This here is Aurora, my mate and luna" Roman claimed.
"She's beautiful!" A woman with brown hair, pale skin tone and dark brown eyes gushed.
Indeed she is. Roman purred in my ear making me smile.

I'm Maya and this here is my mate James. She smiled.

Nice meeting you luna. I said.

After Roman was done chatting to alpha James and his luna.
The three of us stood in a corner.

The place was crowded alpha's from all over the state came to witness the Ceremony tonight and what made it surprising my mate is pretty popular tonight that everyone walked up to him and greeted him.

A tall muscular guy with dark hair and grey eyes called after Roman.

Alpha Kyle. Roman said shaking the alpha's hand.
" I thought you weren't coming. Last time I checked you hated showing up at events like this"

Roman shrugged. "Well things have changed now"
Kyle nodded his gaze darting to me. He held out his hand. "Luna Natalie it's a pleasure seeing you here"
I felt Roman stiffen beside me, his jaw ticked and narrowed his eyes at the alpha.

Natalie? Who the hell is Natalie? I wondered.

"Natalie is dead. This is Aurora, my fated mate" Roman gritted out.

"Oh I had no idea" My apologies luna Aurora. Kyle said with a tight lipped smile.
I'll see you around alpha. Kyle mumbled scurrying off.

Is everything okay? I asked leaning against his chest and inhaling his scent.
"Of course" He muttered placing a kiss at top of my head.

He's lying I can feel it through the mate bond.
Whoever this Natalie person was got Roman ticking. He's mood completely changed sour.

The Ceremony was going to start any minute from now, alpha James, his luna and beta was on the stage.

Roman, Kayden and I sat at the front seat table. Roman however seemed agitated, I could feel his rage through the bond. He kept balling his fist and clenching his jaw.

I took his hand in mine entwing our fingers together and gazed into his icy blue orbs.
A smile formed on his lips, his anger simmered down a little.

You're - Roman! he was cut of by a gruff voice.
Roman's smile completely disappeared, his anger returned, a scowl was now replaced on his face.

Brayden. Roman sighed shifting in his seat.
Brayden drew out a chair and settled down besides Kayden who was busy glaring daggers at him.

What was going on? Why was Roman acting this way as if he was afraid of something.

Brayden was a little younger than Roman he's around five feet tall with wavy dark brown hair, tan skin tone and olive green eyes.

Brayden's gaze shifted on me. A smile formed on his lips. "Roman are you not going to introduce me to this beauty?
She sure is beautiful than the previous one" He smirked.

What's he talking about? I asked Roman.

Nothing! Roman growled glaring at Brayden.

"Why are you afraid of telling her? After all she's just another one of your mistress, isn't she?"

Mistress? I questioned narrowing my eyes at him.

"Didn't Roman tell you love?"

What is he-I gasped as my eyes drifted to his hand. His claws were out digging into his palms, his hands were now bloody.

"You know since you and I go a long way back why don't you share her, let her spend a night with me?"

A loud growl left his lips, Roman capsized the table and pounced on Brayden punching his face repeatedly.

Loud gasps were heard as everyone  stopped whatever it is they were doing and focused their attention on Roman and the other alpha.

Brayden pushed Roman off of him baring his teeth at him. His face was now bruised and bloodied.

"Are you seriously going to hit me for this slut?" Brayden snarled pointing a finger in my direction.

She's not a slut. She's his mate! A familiar voice confirmed.

Damien stood behind Brayden wrapping his fingers around the back of Brayden's neck squeezing it. Brayden grunted out in pain.

" Don't you ever speak to her like that ever again! Do you understand?" Damien growled.

The man nodded bowing his head down in defeat.
Damien shoved him aside onto the ground glancing between Roman and I. "Are you okay Aurora?"

She's fine! Roman glared at his brother dragging me away into the pack house.

I apologize for ruinning this evening. Brayden insulted my mate and I Lost it. Roman explained to alpha James.

It's fine. There's no need to apologize. If someone were to hurt my mate I'd do the same.

Roman nodded. Thank you James for understanding. I think I'll be on my way out.

No, please don't leave alpha Roman I insist you stay. I've asked my men to throw Brayden off my territory.

Okay. Roman sighed running a hand   through his hair.

And luna Aurora I apologize on behalf of Brayden. He was way out of line.
It's fine. You don't need to apologize for his mistakes. I said to James.

Alpha Roman I'd like to have a word with you if you don't mind?
He nodded his head. Sure. Kayden keep an eye on Aurora.
Yes Alpha. Kayden answered.

Stay here with Kayden and don't move from here until I get back, okay?
Okay. I sighed.
I'll be back shortly. He said placing a kiss on my forehead.

Where's Roman? Damien asked entering the living room.
Alpha James wanted to speak with him. Kayden answered.

I see. So how are you? He asked staring at me.
To be honest I'm a little furious and embarrassed.

I'm sorry you had to go through such humiliation. If only I get my hands on me I swear I'll kill him.

No need for that. I don't want you getting your hands dirty because of me.
He smiled turning around to leave.

Damien? I called out.

Yeah? He answered twisting his neck around.

Who's Natalie?

Damien and Kayden shared a glance.
I saw Kayden's eyes glaze which meant he's mindlinking Damien.

Maybe you should ask Roman. It's not my place to tell.

Asking Roman is going to be difficult because he isn't going to tell me anything but I guess I'll have to find out for myself.

Aurora! A voice called out, a voice which I know too well and makes my body tremble with fear.

My breath got caught in my throat, my heart began to hammer in my chest as I stood paralyzed with fear staring at my worst nightmare.
