Aurora's pov
My heart was pumping so loud that it was the only thing I could hear. What the hell do I do?
What's the protocol for when you encounter a rogue wolf?
Should I back away slowly-Big mistake. As I took a step back, the rogue bared it's teeth and pounced on top of me, growling and snarling at me, displaying it's sharp canines. The rogue emitted a foul stench that made me want to barf.
My body trembled as tears clouded my vision. I was going to die and nobody would know how I had died. Not that anyone cares about me.
I should've known better than to roam these woods, it's dangerous. I'm so damn stupid. I shouldn't have left the dark moon pack without planning
A proper escape plan.I can't even defend myself from the rogue. I don't have any sort of weapon nor am I trained to fight against these filthy creatures.
A loud angry roar had my heart pounding faster. "Oh no"
There's another rogue closing in nearby.
More rogues, well isn't this wonderful! From my peripheral vision I could see another wolf leap from between the trees, knocking the rogue off me.
I couldn't move... Couldn't seem to get enough air into my lungs as I watched the scene infront of me.Black and brown danced into a furious blur as they violently clashed before my very eyes, producing terrifying growls and yips as they bit and snapped at each other.
The black wolf however looks strangely familiar. The aura around the black wolf indicates he isn't a rogue but he's a high ranking wolf.
I think I've seen this wolf before or maybe I'm hallucinating after facing the rogue wolf.My lips parted open as the stubborn air refused to enter and replenish my starving lungs. My fingernails dug into the soil, desperately fighting that looming dizziness poking at the edges of my mind.
And with a strangled whimper leaving my lips, I clumsily woke up and stumbled over my own knees as adrenaline finally kicked in, slipping and tripping over the leafy forest floor as I began running.
Hearing the dull thuds of my own staggering steps, those horrifying sounds coming from behind eventually faded away as I kept on maintaining a good distance between the wolves.
I stopped and gasped for breath. My lungs burned, my legs painfully sore. I needed a brake to regain my strength before venturing any further.
A low vicious growl made my blood freeze.
I slowly lift my head a little to meet the black wolf's deadly gaze. I thought I had lost him but all this while he had been following me without me knowing. He takes slow, predatory steps towards me.
My eyes widened, feeling the stab of horrorfying fear dig into my chest as I let out a terrified squeal and slowly walked backwards.I started running again or more like stumbling around as my jumbled mind continued working against me.
I came to an abrupt halt, below me is a steep cliff with a long fall. The deep blue water ripled, the golden rays of the sun reflected off the water with the waves crashing violently against the sharp edged rocks.
For a moment I enjoy the wind blowing against my face, the sound of the ocean below me and the sun providing me with warmth.
Is this what it feels like being free and at peace? The sound of the trees rustling behind me pulls me away from my peaceful moment. I turned around expecting it to be the wolf but it wasn't instead it was Roman.
What was he doing here? And where's the wolf that was following me?
My forehead creased, a frown settled on my lips. Was the wolf Roman?
It had to be him. Now that I remember I've seen his wolf the first day we met, when he chased after me.
Was he going to hurt me for running away."Aurora" He called out, his voice strained.
"Aurora!" He called out again as he slowly walked towards me with cautious steps.
Stop! I said with my hand held upright.
Roman halted in his tracks staring at me confused.
"Don't come any further or else I will jump!" I threatened pointing down to the cliff.
Roman growled. "You wouldn't dare"
Trust me I will!He let out a frustrated sigh. "Aurora stop this nonsense" He said almost in a pleading tone.
I snickered. Why?....so that you can punish me for running away from you or worse kill me?
His angry expression soon fell into a worried one.
"Aurora, my intentions are not to hurt you, trust me"Not long ago you tried to attack me. I retorted.
He let out a sigh. "Aurora, please just listen to me and step away from there. I promise I won't hurt you" He said as he slowly moved a little closer towards me.You're lying. I spat balling my fist.
You're just the same as everyone else!
I will not be a slave to you or this stupid damn bond!
I let out a humourless chuckle.
You know what I'd rather die than be bounded to a ruthless monster like you forever. Those words were like a punch to his gut. A huge burst of panic mixed with dread, terror went through his entire body.
"You don't want this bond?" He asked his voice sounding hurt.
I shook my head. No, I don't.
He sighed. "Fine then I will release you from it"I raised a brow. "You will?"
He nodded. Yes I will. I can't force you to be with me, can I?
I scoffed. You're lying. You would never let me go until you're satisfied torturing me for what Michael had done. That's not true Aurora. I will never punish you for what Michael did. Please just stop this and listen to me Aurora.
I turned around ignoring his pleas, taking a deep breath I closed my eyes and jumped off the cliff.
***
My body jolted, opening my eyes with an air deprived gasp as I sat up.
I desperately scanned my surroundings, my heart beat quickened as I realized we're I am.I'm back at the dark moon pack. The last thing I remembered was jumping off the cliff just as I wondered how I managed to survive the door opened and Roman entered.
He's furious at me I can tell by the look he's giving me right now.
He began pacing the room with his angry gaze locked on me.
He sighed, running a hand through his dark hair."What the hell were you thinking Aurora?" He boomed startling me.
"Did you really think you could get away from me mate?" He chuckled darkly.Yes.
His nostrils flared. What did you just say? He demanded.
"Oh crap!" Did I say that out loud?
"Answer me Aurora?" He yelled capsizing the coffee table.
I let out a low chuckle. Yes Roman, I did it to get away from you, from this stupid bond that I don't wish to be apart of. I'd rather die than be mated to a monster like you! I spat.
