Roman's pov

I stepped on the gas and sped home, breaking every single traffic law along the way.
I tried mindlinking with each one of the warriors that's stationed outside the mansion but to no avail they weren't responding which got me on edge.

As soon as I reached home I swiftly got off the vehicle, before I could enter the house the strong scent of blood filled my nostrils.
I followed the scent and what I saw enraged me.

The warriors were laying on the ground lifeless, they were killed in a ruthless manner. One of them had their heart ripped out and the others head was decapitated.

Fear paralyzed me as my mind drifted to Aurora. I hope she isn't hurt but if she was my wolf would have told me by now.

I stormed into the house and was greeted by darkness, which wasn't a surprise as it was already midnight.

"No, please don't!" Aurora cried out.
Every single cell in my body tensed.
I'm going to kill whoever this person is that dared to step into my territory, kill my men and harm my mate.

I was now consumed by rage. My wolf clawed at me to let him out and rip this person from limb to limb.

The minute I laid eyes on her my blood began to boil.
Aurora, was running towards me and behind her was the man who had a hand in killing my family.

Aurora's pov

"No, please don't!" I pleaded as he tore open my dress.

"After I'm done with you there will be nothing left for Roman!" Lucas grinned  wickedly.
My eyes landed on the vase beside me I slowly grabbed it off the table and struck him on his head and bolted for the door.
You're going to pay for that you little slut! Lucas bellowed behind me.

My steps faltered when I saw a tall, huge figure standing at the doorway. The strong alluring scent of sandal wood and lavender wafted throughout the air.

I rushed towards Roman instinctively wrapping my arms around him, breathing in his scent which gave me a sense of comfort.
I began to sobb uncontrollably in his arms.
"It's okay" He assured me, placing a kiss on top of my head.
He must've realized my clothes were torn apart as he placed his jacket around me.

"Oh look who decided to finally show up" Lucas mused.
I swallowed as I felt Roman's body shake with fury. His grip on my waist tightened as he let out a loud roar.

Lucas snickered. "So I guess the rumors were true after all. You're her mate" he declared.

Alpha? I heard someone call Roman behind us.
"Kayden take her away whilst I deal with this mutt" Roman instructed, letting go of my waist as he took a step closer to Lucas.

"Let's go luna" Kayden spoke in a soft tone, bringing his hand forward for me to take.
I swallowed staring up at Roman who was busy glaring daggers at Lucas.

I reluctantly took Kayden's hand as he guided me outside.
Luna! Hailey shouted as she approached me with a worry etched on her face.

Hailey wrapped her arms around me pulling me into a warm embrace.
I'm so sorry luna. I shouldn't have left you alone.

I gently pulled away from the hug.
Hailey this isn't your fault. No one knew this was going to happen.

I jumped when I suddenly heard a loud growl coming from inside of the house.
Hailey wrapped her arms around me, pulling me towards the garden and helping me to settle on the bench.

What's going on in there?

Hailey gave me a reassuring smile. Relax Luna everything's going to be fine.
