69. Shit that was a brutal race

The Saturday me and Lola went out to have lunch and we walked around Monaco, she was telling me about all the photoshoots she has to do and I was happy for her. "Are you going back to classes?" she ask as we sit on the beach watching the waves. "No, I am doing my last few classes online." I say and she nods. "Bella, I want to tell you something and please do not get angry." she say and I look at her and nod. "You and Lando, you are meant to be together, I have never seen you so happy with anyone and yes losing the baby was shit but I think you guys need each other, you cannot stay away from each other, the longest you ever went without speaking was that 2 weeks." she say and I nod, I know what she is saying is true. "I know" I say and she look at me surprised. "it's just every time I look at him I think about how he treated me and then he wasn't here, he wasn't here when I lost the baby or even before that, what does that say about him." I say looking at her with tear in my eyes, I do not blame Lando for losing the baby but I do blame him for not being with me, he was out having a good time with his friends and I was home alone.

"I understand that Bella, but now you can fix things, you can take your time and fix things." she say and I wipe my eyes. "He phoned me last night, he was crying." I say to her and she looks shocked. "Why?" "I never realized that he also lost a child, I was just thinking about myself, and he is struggling he was so strong for me and now I think it is hitting him." I say and she takes my hand. "Do you know how many times I found him crying over you and the baby when I came to visit." she say and I looked shocked. "He just hides it well Bella, but he is also mourning." she say and I nod looking at the water again. "I just wish everything can go back to normal." I say taking a deep breath. "I know, and it will just give it time." she say and I nod lying my head on her shoulder. We sat like that for a while and then we went back to my apartment, she want us to go clubbing but I really wasn't up to it just yet. When she left I watched a movie, I see a text from Lando and I smile.

LAN: Just checking up on you, I miss you.

Me: I miss you too, I am good and you?

LAN: Good, wish you were here.

Me: I know, maybe the next race I will join you.

LAN: That will be great, but I will be back on Monday

Me: Can't wait😁

LAN: Have a good night baby, well talk tomorrow

Me: You too, I love you

LAN: Love you too😘

I smile at his message, I did love him and Lola was right I need to give us another change we have been through a lot together so we can just as well try again right? I fell asleep that night not crying, I was feeling happy again I know me and Lando can survive anything, I hope we can I really do because I have never felt this much love for anyone.

On Sunday I invited everyone to come watch the race with me, Mick and Laila, Drew and Odessa, Madelyn and Lola. I was busy putting out some snacks watching the TV, I watch Lando do some interviews and he looks good. I hear a knock and I open the door for Lola. "Hi" I greet her with a hug, "What do we think is he going to win today?" she ask looking at the TV and I laugh. "I hope so he needs something good." I say and she look at me smiling, "You do too Bella." she say and I nod walking to the door. I greet the others that has arrived and we stood around the kitchen just chatting "I told the media before I am not commenting on it, but to be clear me and Isabella is fine so stop the rumours." I hear and my head snapped to the TV, "What did they ask him?" Drew ask and I shake my head. "I don't know." I say sipping my wine. "Well he sounds pissed off." Mick say and I nod, he does and I can see by his body language he is pissed off.

I decided to text him while the others chatted.

Me: Hey, what did the reporter ask you, I missed it?

LAN: Something fucking stupid don't worry about it

Me; You know it will be on social media soon so might as well tell me?

LAN: She just asked if it's true that you have moved to another country because I cheated on you, she has no fucking idea what is going on.

Me: I know, just ignore her and focus on your race, I am watching from home, be safe.

LAN: I will love you

Me: Love you too

Soon the race started and Lando was starting P1 Max just behind him, but not even on the first corner and max overtook Lando. The race was good, and he was fighting his ass off to get in front, I have to give it to Max he is a good driver but I still believe Lando is better. "Fuck, Max is not giving up." Mick say and I nod. Lando tried a few times to overtake and I can hear on the radio he is getting frustrated. On Lap 64 it happened Lando wanted to pass but Max was not giving enough space, they bumped into each other and the car was fucked. Lando went into the pits and he decided to retire the car, I watched in disbelieve as he got out of the car and walked to his father, not talking to anyone. "Max really could have just let him pass." Mick say and then they decided Max gets a penalty. "Max is a good driver, but he is also not good at losing so there was no way he would have let Lando pass." I say and they nod.

"Fuck Lando looks pissed, and they are good friends no?" Madelyn ask and I nod watching Lando, he looks angry and frustrated, I see the camera follow him to his driver's room he was on the phone and just then my phone rang, I look and see Lando. The race was over and I see my brother finished P3, "Well they just handed that win to Russel." I hear Mick say and I walk to my room. "Hi, you okay I saw what happened?" I say and he sigh. "Yeah, fucking Max he should have just let me pass, it's the first time this year I could not finish a race the car is fucked." he say and I smile. "But how are you are you good?" "I'm pissed but I wanted to hear your voice." he say and I smile more. "I am sorry he did that Lando." "Me too I feel he needs to apologize, he at least got to finish the race." he say and I sigh. "I know, just know you gave your best and he was just scared of losing that is why he did that." I say and I can hear someone calling him. "I have to go do media baby, well talk later." "Okay, don't say anything stupid." I say and he laugh. "I love you." I love you too now go." I say and we hang up.

"What does Lando say?" Drew ask and I smile, "He is pissed, but here let's listen. We watched the interviews and I smiled at Lando he was so angry but he kept it together well, Max was in disbelieve that Lando wanted him to apologize and I just shake my head.
