The commotion caused by the map had predictably garnered the attention of the school staff and had gotten back to their principal who called an assembly. Jack sat down in the empty seat beside her brother as students piled into the gymnasium whispering to each other about what was written on the map. She traced her fingers over the fading stickers on the cover of her sketchbook which she held on her lap until she felt Ca$h nudge her leg. She glanced up at him and he nodded to something by the entrance of the gym.
She followed his gaze and saw Harper McLean enter. Her previously long blonde hair was shaved completely off and she was completely ignoring her best friend calling her name as she made her way to an empty chair near the front of the room without looking at her or paying any mind to the muttering of their classmates who'd also noticed her change in appearance.
"Sit down Amerie!" Woodsy instructed as she took her place at the podium in front of the rows of students. Amerie slinked back to her seat, keeping her eyes on Harper as she did so. Jack returned her attention to the old stickers on the cover of her sketchbook when Woodsy spoke again.
"I am a woke woman." She began and Jack furrowed her brows slightly, not sure where this was going, "I enjoy sex as much as the next person." Jack grimaced as did many others, disgusted by the words coming out o their principal's mouth.
"Yes. But reputation is everything and this map has jeopardised your reputations and the reputation of our school. And on the first day back." Woodsy went on, "We are currently in the process of contacting all of the parents of everyone on this map and have strongly suggested that there are to be no more parties, shindigs or gathos."
Jack rolled her eyes at the reaction Woodsy's words received. She didn't have the power to stop parties and most of them happened without parents knowledge anyway so it wouldn't make much of a difference.
"Hey! Hey!" Woodsy yelled over the uproar, "Unsupervised parties equals alcohol. Alcohol equals poor choices. The risk taking behaviours outlined on this map are unacceptable. Hartley high prides itself on being a safe environment, "—someone let out a wry laugh— "But clearly this is a wake-up call that we are not doing enough. Oh, and we will find out who did this. Get to class."

The drama of the day didn't end with the assembly. During PE Amerie tried to speak to Harper who was apparently done with the pair's eleven-year-long friendship and they had a fight which ended with Amerie being sent to the nurse with her nose pouring of blood like a tap. There was much speculation about what the fight was about until it was revealed that Amerie was the creator of the Incest Map; Saskia Van Bleek had overheard Woodsy talking to Amerie about it in the principals office and spread the information to as many people as she could and it wasn't long until the whole school knew.
