The next day, Jack was sitting in her bunk, once again trying to stay as still as she could to avoid causing herself more pain when one of the guards stopped in the doorway making her look over.

"Piggott, you've got a visitor."

Jack frowned in confusion, having already seen her Nan less than an hour ago—the woman had been horrified to see her granddaughters bruised face and Jack had to spend the whole visit assuring her she was fine—so she didn't know who it would be.

She got up and followed the guard to the visiting room where she was met with the sight of a dark haired boy in a hideous knitted jumper.

"You couldn't have worn a nice jumper to come see me?" She questioned teasingly as she sat down in the empty chair opposite him. Malakai rolled his eyes and made a face of mock offence, "Excuse me, this is my bird jumper, be honoured I wore it to come visit you."

"Whatever." She couldn't help but smile, having missed seeing her friend in person, "It's good to see you in the flesh."

"I'd say the same but you look like shit," Malakai commented, eyeing the bruises marring her face and though they weren't as prominent as they were a few days ago, fading into an ugly brown from the deep purple they had been, there was no mistaking them, "What's happening in there? You joined a fight club or something?"

She rolled her eyes at his words, "Don't stress I can handle it." She waved off his concerns.

"Your Nan came up this morning didn't she? What does she think of it?"

Jack chewed the inside of her cheek, "She threatened to go mental, but you know how she is, dramatic."

"Must be where you get it from,"

She hummed, unamused and lifted her hand, flipping him off making him chuckle at her.

"It's weird not having you around, I keep looking for you at school and stuff," he told her and she snickered slightly at him.

"You miss me that much?"

"Yeah, course I do, you're my best mate," he nodded, "Harper was asking after you yesterday. She knows she can't contact you because of the case and trial but she wanted to know if you were doing okay."

"Really? What did you tell her?" She asked, hoping that he hadn't told her the truth about what was going on. She didn't want Harper to find out and potentially feel bad enough to do something rash. Judging by the look on her face when Jack was arrested as well as Ca$h and the others, she might've if she knew about all of the shit Jack was getting but Jack didn't want that.

"I told her you were alright and that you weren't holding any grudges against her. Nothing about you being a human punching bag, don't worry," He assured her and she nodded, thanking him, "Oh, and also your boy toy started a club called the Cumlords." He added and she scrunched up her face in confusion.
