By the time night had fallen, everyone had tired themselves out playing flip cup with the red cordial and crashed out on the floor in the main office and copier room. Jack sat with her legs stretched out in front of her and her back against the wall with her brother's head in her lap as he slept, just listening as the clock on the wall ticked away in the silence.

At the sound of light footsteps approaching she glanced over toward the door to the hallway and watched from the floor as Spider stepped into the office, eyes scanning around until he spotted her.

"Can we talk?" He asked quietly, gesturing to Woodsy's empty office. She glanced down at her brother sleeping in her lap before nodding and gently shifting her legs from beneath his head causing him to instinctively curl up on the floor. She got to her feet and walked into the office, stretching out her limbs which were stiff from sitting on the floor for so long before she walked over to the desk and sat down on the edge of it, turning to face Spider who lingered by the doorway.

"What do you want Spider?"

Spider pushed the office door shut and walked towards her, stopping a few paces in front of the desk, "I know you want nothing to do with me but I just...I'm really sorry for everything," he apologised sounding sincere which was weird to hear coming from him.

Jack hummed and looked down at her feet, "I know, I got your messages." She muttered, twisting her rings on her fingers in front of her.

Spider sighed deeply and stepped closer, hesitantly reaching out to grab her hands, "Jack," he threaded his fingers through hers and she looked up at him, "Please, let me try again. You're like the only person who doesn't, well, didn't think I was a complete tosser and I really fucking like you. Please give me another chance,"

"Spider, you really hurt me, okay?" She emphasised, "Being told that being with me is trouble and not only that but that I'm not even worth it, hurts."

Spider shook his head, "I only said that to get the guys off my back, I shouldn't have said it, I know, but I swear I didn't mean a word." She sighed and looked away but he released one of her hands and lifted his hand to her face, gently turning her head back to him, "Please, Jack, one more chance."

She stared into his eyes for a moment, taking in the sincerity swirling in the ocean blue hues before she brought her hand up and wrapped her fingers around his wrist. For a moment he thought she might pull his hand away but instead she leant forward and gently pressed a kiss to his lips.

She felt him melt into the kiss after hesitating for a moment before she pulled away, resting her forehead against his, "One more chance, that's all you get." She whispered.
