The next morning, neither Harper nor Jack mentioned their conversation the night before or verbally acknowledged the shift in their dynamic, their shared hatred for a certain eshay with a bad haircut seemingly bringing them closer to being sort of friends. It was a silent understanding that they each had their own traumas to process and so they didn't offer each other the pity others did, knowing fully that it didn't help.

Jack trudged along with the rest of the class as they gathered in a seating area outside where Jojo was waiting for them. She sat down on a log and a moment later Spider sat down on the floor in front of her, leaning back between her legs. She leant forward, pressing a kiss to the crown of his head before resting her chin there and draping her arms over his shoulders, joining her hands in front of his chest and he reached up softly holding onto her wrists.

Ant plopped down on the lot beside her and fake gagged, "Affection."

"All right everyone, take a seat." Jojo instructed, "Space yourselves out."

"Make sure you leave enough room for your chakras," Voss chuckled to himself, nudging Jojo who shot him a forced smile.

"So, today's guided meditation is about connecting with your higher self," she told the class calmly, "I want stillness. I want calm. I want—"

"Device connected." The Bluetooth speaker on the ground behind her connected, interrupting her and Another Toy by SPEED began to play way too loudly for that early in the morning.

Jack sat up straight, covering her ears with her hands while Spider mock-rocked out.

"Who hurt you Miss?" Ant questioned jokingly.

"Sorry about that," Jojo apologised with a chuckle and quickly turned the music off. Jack lowered her hands from her ears once the quiet had returned. She absentmindedly began to play with Spider's hair while the teacher returned to the meditation.

"All right, everyone, let's close our eyes."

Spider and Ant both pretended to meditate, humming irritatingly. Jack nudged the former with her foot making him fall quiet while Ant chuckled as she let her eyes fall shut, still running her fingers through the blonde boy's hair.

"Darren, close your eyes." Jojo repeated when the teen didn't listen to the instruction, "Good. Good. Yeah. Great." Jojo muttered and Jack could hear the sound of paper being unfolded, "So, let's think of this as a palate cleanser. A way to hit refresh on the term."

There was a metal clang followed by a quiet scoff belonging to Voss and a soft chuckle from Jojo.

"Let's take a deep breath in." There was a collective inhale among the students following her instructions, "Hold for three seconds...and release." They all exhaled. "I want you to imagine a beach, the waves gently lapping the shore. Now focus on the soles of your feet sinking into the sand. The water touching your toes."
