Kelly and Stella : Coming Back Together Again

Stella got a call from Chief Pascal this morning asking her to come in early and meet him in his office which had her a little nervous but with a little reassurance from Kelly it was nothing bad especially considering she's not done anything wrong she was as calm as she was going to be. They dropped the kids off to Jennifer and then headed onto the firehouse. Once they arrived and got out of the car to head to the firehouse Kelly walked up to her "You've got this Stella. Nothing to worry about. It could even be something like asking you something about an incident report" Kelly tells her. "But wouldn't him questioning be bad" Stella asks him. "Not necessarily. He could just be trying to get the full picture or be a little confused by something and need clarification" Kelly tells her. "I hope so" Stella tells him. " Good luck. I love you. I'm going to go get squad running drills while you go talk to chief. Come and fill me in when you get done" Kelly says to her. "I love you too and thank you. Oh trust me I will. Can you get truck running drills too" Stella responds to him. "Yes" Kelly tells her

"Hey Stella thank you for coming in early this morning. I actually have a question for you and know that I don't care which you choose I will stand behind either and there is no rush to make this decision. DC Hill called me yesterday and asked me if I thought you would be interested in going to Detroit for a couple weeks and expand your GOF program to Detroit. If you choose to then I will get Carver to be the acting lieutenant of 81 while you're gone and bring Kylie on. If you choose not to everything will remain exactly the same" Chief Pascal said to Stella. "Umm uh honestly I um I'm sorry I'm just surprised. I need to talk to Kelly for sure and then I need to talk to our kids before I make a final decision. Is that okay" Stella says to him. "That's totally fine and understandable. Just let me know as soon as you know so I can get everything set up" Chief said. "Will do Chief. Between calls do you think it would be okay if we ran to our kids and talked to them about it and I can definitely talk to Kelly about it on shift" Stella says. " Absolutely but if we get a call I expect y'all to be straight out and heading to the call immediately " Chief told her. "Yes sir I understand. Thank you again" Stella tells him. "Not a problem. If y'all want to yall can go now before we start getting calls" Chief tells her. "We will" Stella tells him before running out to Kelly and telling him briefly what was happening as they headed to Jennifers. "I'll talk to you about it more later. I just need to talk to the kids first because we never know when we may get a call or be stuck at the firehouse" Stella tells Kelly. "Oh I completely understand " Kelly says

Once they got to Jennifers Kelly and Stella ran in and sat the kids down in the kitchen. "So I have a question and y'all can be honest about it. I've been offered an opportunity to expand my GOF program to Detroit but it would require me to be away for a couple weeks. Is that okay" Stella asks the kids. "Could we go with you" Brandon asks. "No unfortunately y'all would be here with yall's dad while I go" Stella tells him. "How long exactly would you need to be gone" Brandon asks. "Literally 14 days. Exactly 2 weeks" Stella tells them. "I don't care if you go but I would miss you so much" Brandon tells her. "I would miss you too. All of you so so much but before we knew it we'd all be back together again" Stella tells him. "Yeah" Brandon tells her. "What do you think Ella" Stella asks Ella. "I think you should do it but who will lay down with me at night" Ella says. "Your dad would just like he used to normally. Nothing will change in y'all's schedule besides me not being here physically for a couple weeks" Stella tells them. "Oh yeah then do it" Brandon tells her. "So y'all would be totally fine with me doing it" Stella says. "Absolutely " both kids told her. "Ok just making sure. I love y'all. Me and daddy have to get back to the firehouse until a call comes in" Stella tells them as she gives them a hug and they tell her that they love her. "I love y'all. See y'all when we get off tomorrow morning" Kelly says hugging them before they headed back to the rigs. Once in the rigs they got a call so their conversation together would have to hold until they both got back to the firehouse

After a few hours they were back to the firehouse finally. "Do you want to have our conversation now or later" Kelly says to Stella as she walks past him on the app floor. "Lets go ahead and get it over with now. Is your office okay to have it in" Stella says to Kelly. "Yes that'll be fine" Kelly tells her as they head to his office. "So what do you think about it" Stella asks Kelly as they sit down. "I honestly think you should do it. It's a great opportunity to continue to not only get your program out there but you more out there known too" Kelly tells her. "How do you think it would affect the kids though if I was to do it" Stella says. "I honestly think they'd miss you of course but they'll be fine and we'll have fun like we always do before counting down the days until you get home. I think they would struggle more if we were together longer because they wouldn't have any of that normalcy anymore of week on week off. I still think it will have them naturally miss you though" Kelly tells her. "That is a good point. Are you up for solo parenting during summer vacation" Stella tells him. "Absolutely" Kelly tells her. "One more thing I gotta ask. Are you truly okay with it because I don't want some problem to surface later about it especially after you told me you were okay with it" Stella says to Kelly. "I absolutely am. Any opportunity to further advance your career and program I hope you jump on them all because you deserve it" Kelly tells her. "Thank you" Stella tells him. "Don't thank me Stella thank yourself for all that you've done and overcome to get to this point in your career and program because that was all you the whole way" Kelly tells her. "Believe it or not though I couldn't have done it without you and chief Boden pushing me a long the way" Stella tells him before giving him a hug. "I'm heading to tell Chief Pascal my decision. Catch up later. I love you " Stella tells him heading out of his quarters. "I love you too and that sounds good" Kelly tells her starting his incident report

She immediately headed to the Chiefs office "you got a minute " she asks standing at the door. "Absolutely. Come on in" Chief tells her as she walked in. "So I've talked to my kids and Kelly and they are all for it so I'm going to accept the offer. When will I have to leave" She says. "You will need to leave here in just a couple days. I'm really glad that you chose to accept this. I think what you're doing with it is really inspiring to young females and even older females that just need someone to believe in them. It even inspires me as a male that's been in the CFD for 32 years. Keep up the work Stella" Chief tells her. "Thank you so so much" Chief tells her as she heads out and tells Kelly when she'll have to leave before heading to her office to do her paper work and prepare to be gone for the next 8 shifts.
