For how much longer are they going to do the same thing day in and day out waiting for Shigaraki to wake up? People are starting to question them; she hears them talking when she walks past and there is only so much she can do to keep herself entertained locked up in this place for so long. Christmas and New Years have already passed for Petes sake. They were all going insane.

Every day was the same.

In an hour they had another goddamn conference meeting. All they wanted to do was roll over in bed and stay asleep for as long as possible. What more can she do? They didn't deem her fit enough to be in charge of a 'unit'. Telling her she had something else more important to do.

A lie.

They still think of her title as a hero and it pissed her off.

"I don't feel like going today." she tells Dabi, who lays next to her.

"Me neither." he replied to her.

Miya lays with her head on his shoulder, leg bent over, and arm stretched over his body. She was glad she had someone who understood her. (Most of the time) They lay together in the dark and neither wanting to move. They can hear the world going on outside and it makes Miya think.

After they've accomplished their mission and they are dead. What happens after?

Does the world still keep going after they are dead?

Does the world forget them?

And lately, her death has been on her mind. Sometimes she will lay in bed late at night imagining an awesome battle in which she is struck down but her memory still lives on like a legend. (Most likely won't happen) Or she will imagine a terrible ending for herself. Left to die in a lonely ditch.

Who is to say what will happen?

The best thing right now is to close her eyes and go back to sleep in the arms of Dabi. So she does. Snuggling further into the crook of his neck where her nose curves with his form and his arm tightens around her. His fingers jumped from between two scars on her arm - the deep cut she made herself and the bullet wound in her shoulder. He traced the shapes he could feel without realising he was doing it as his eyes stared up at the ceiling.

Miya's slow breathing became rhythmic to him and slowly his eyes began to fall shut despite his efforts to fight them open. He knows he can sleep with her and be alright... but still. Pure instincts told him he can't go to sleep. She was already asleep in his arm when he forced his eyes back open and he looks down at her. The crease in her brow made it seem like she was mad at him in her sleep.

Dabi reached over with his other hand and massaged the space between her eyes and the angry crease came undone and then she looked peaceful. He scoffed. What a troublesome woman, he thinks.

"Why do you stick with me?" he whispered, asking the ceiling above in question.

"Because."

Miya's voice startled him and she giggled when he jumped. "I thought you were asleep." he grunted. She smiled against his neck laughing.

"I almost was."

What happened next came very suddenly as a shock. Tremors violently ripped through the buildings structure. Anything not secured is thrown; the mounted tv falls from its bracket crashing into the ground, the cabinet following after it. The drawers slide out as it tilted forward falling on its face. Miya and Dabi are on their feet and now wide awake. The mattress hits Miya's legs and she slams into the carpet grazing elbows and knees.
