Dim blue light buzzed above Dabi's head, and somewhere was a fan spinning and spattering like a tantrum-throwing child. His head moved to the side in deep sleep. His jaw was wound tight and his arms were folded over his chest. "Dabi."
His brows came together.
"Dabi." Miya shook his shoulder again, and this time his eyes came open. He looked up at Miya and straightened out. She stood over the chair he fell asleep on and tucked her hands into the jumper pockets. Her face was pale, and the bags under her eyes were more prominent.
"Did you get a good night's sleep?" she told him, with a sarcastic undertone, and pouted lip.
He looked at the brown grit between the tiles on the floor.
"Remember what I told you." the doctor emerged from his room. He was a lean, skinny man, with a side part where his head was balding and his ears pointed out unnaturally. Dabi stood from his chair standing over Miya very closely. Suddenly protective.
Miya nodded, chewing on her lip.
"Get plenty of rest, take your medicine once a day, and in a month you'll be healthy as a horse again."
"A month?" she sighed. "I got crap to do."
The doctor shrugged. "Destroy your body, be my guest."
Dabi stepped in front of Miya. "I'd watch how I speak to her." he warned with a deep voice. Miya had to hold her arm to his chest to stop him from advancing on the poor doctor. Although it would have been amusing to watch.
The doctor stood behind his little reception desk pilled with papers and boxes. He looked at the two members of the League of Villains unimpressed. "Are you her partner?" the doctor questioned, meeting Dabi's glare. When he got no response from the villain he said, "Especially no intercourse for two weeks." he ordered. "You'll only hurt her, and if you want to avoid this situation happening again, ejaculate outside the vaginal canal."
Miya laughed. "You're using big words, it's hurting his brain." she patted Dabi's back sympathetically and he shot her a glare. "He means don't cum inside, baby."
"Shut the fuck up." he told her.
"I still expect payment."
Miya reached behind Dabi's back and slipped her hands into the white pouch hanging off his belt, she took out a sum of money and gave the doctor the amount he demanded. She turned on her heel and the rubber of her sneakers squeaked as she turned. A picture of her parents on the TV mounted in the corner of the small room caught her eyes.
"What happening?" she pointed at the screen. "Turn the sound on!" she demanded.
The doctor fumbled through the draws for the remote and the sound was turned on. 7News Japan was standing outside of her parent's house with police investigating, and Heroes surrounding the perimeter. Dabi looked at Miya watching the television intently.
