Percy and Annabeth both freeze as the question leaves Sophie's mouth. They pale. Percy reaches for Annabeth's hand, as if he was floating away and she was his anchor.

Annabeth was the first of the two to reign in their emotions. "If you don't mind, we're not going to tell you that. We don't know you very well. And that question is very personal."

Sophie nods. She understands where they are coming from. She's been through a war, she's gone through things that she wouldn't want to share with strangers too.

"Okay. So then what about this question. If everything Greek exists, what does that make you guys?" Keefe asked. All the humor was wiped from his face. His tone was completely serious. He looked at us as if the two had lied to him his whole life. Sophie looked at him with a comforting gaze.

Annabeth and Percy glance at each other wearily. "Demigods. We're demigods."

That knocked the wind out of Sophie's mouth. Demigods? She'd grown up her whole life learning about demigods like Perseus and Jason and Heracles. They were legends heroes.

And now she was supposed to believe that they were real. Myths?

But Sophie knew she would come to terms with it. There was a time that she thought elves were mythical beings too, but now look where she was.

"Demigods? What are those?" Keefe asked. Sandor and Grizel gasped.

"Demigods? I haven't seen one of their kind in forever," Grizel exclaimed.

"I knew there was something off about your scent," Said Sandor. "Whose children are you?"

"I am a daughter of Athena, goddess of wisdom and battle strategy," said Annabeth. Sophie could see that. Her eyes always held this calculating look, and her body posture flaunted her wisdom around at all times.

They turned to Percy expectantly. "I'm a son of Sally--- OOF." Annabeth elbowed him. He glared at her playfully. Sophie shivered.

If that was his playful glare, I wonder what he looked like actually glaring at someone, Sophie thought. She tried to imagine it but just couldn't.

"I don't remember her? Is she a newer goddess?" Sandor wondered in his high pitched, squeaky voice.

"I was joking. She's my mortal mother. I'm a son of Poseidon, god of the sea and horses and yada-yada-yada." Percy waves his hand in dismissal.

"That's why you can control water and talk to Glitterbutt?" Keefe questioned.

"Yup," Percy replied. "Now, do you have a sparring arena? It's been a while since I've really practiced."

Sandor grinned maliciously. He had a plan.

Their training field was in the middle of the clearing. It was littered with dummies, targets, and weapons of all sorts.

"Ew. Ninja Stars," said Percy. "I mean, cool but like, I've done those before."

"Then let's see your aim," Sandor said. He handed Percy a bundle of ninja stars. Percy turned to Annabeth.

"Would you do the honors, Wise girl?" He asked and handed her a piece of cloth. She stepped up to him and tied it around his eyes.

Keefe snorted. There's no way he's going to hit the target at all now, he transmitted. They watched in silence as Percy grabbed the throwing stars and held them in the correct place. Annabeth spun him and let go. She stepped back and smirked at us.

Percy, still completely blindfolded, turned directly towards the target and threw the stars. With complete and utterly terrifying accuracy. As soon as Percy heard the dull thunk of the metal hitting the woods, he ripped the blindfold off.

He looked at the target. The four stars that he threw were in a completely straight line. Two of the stars were dead center and the other two were of the edges of the center circle.

"Eh," he said. "Could've done better."

All four of the non-demigod beings were staring at them in complete shock.

"Yeah, you could've," Annabeth joked lightly.

Sandor stuttered over his words. "W-what? H-how?"

"That was nothing," Percy downplayed. "You should see Annabeth with daggers."

"And you should see Percy with swords. Any type of swords," Annabeth returned her boyfriends compliment quickly. "How 'bout you guys?"

"Yeah, what're you're special talents?"Percy asked.

"Bro, I thought we already explained this," Keefe said with exasperation.

"Yeah," added Sophie.

"I meant with all of this. What can you do? Martial arts, weaponry?" Percy said.

"Oh!" Sophie turned to Sandor and Grizel. But they were at the edge of the clearing conversing something. She turned back to the demigods, only to find them having a conversation already. But they weren't talking. They were just looking at each other. Their love was that deep they understood what each other was saying without words.

Sophie cleared her throat, hating to ruin their moment. "We should probably head back. It's starting to get dark and I'm sure Edaline and Grady would start to get worried pretty soon."

The group nodded after saying that they'd come back tomorrow morning and then walked away from the training grounds. Straight into a trap.
