Percy POV
Bronte had drug me a few miles until we reached a HUMONGOUS house that had animal pens scattered everywhere. What shocked me the most (sort of) was that they had a feathery neon green T-rex.
The giant thing was roaring as a blonde man was trying to feed it huge watermelon-looking things. The T-rex smacked the man and sent him flying into a pile of dung.
The man shook his head and looked up at me and Bronte.
"Bronte! Wonderful surprise to see you here, but Sophie's at Foxfire right now," The man walked out of the enclosure and came to us. He stunk badly. The man looked at me and smiled, "Who's this?"
"Actually, I came to see you and Edaline. Grady, this is Perseus Jackson, Perseus this is Grady," I shook Grady's extended arm.
"Just Percy is fine," I told Grady.
"Hello, Percy. Where are you from?" Grady asked politely. He looked at me so curiously that it made me wonder what he was thinking.
"Manhattan," I replied. He glanced at Bronte for an explanation.
"He's not an elf. Nor is he human, that's why he's able to be here without having permission. And why he can speak Elvish, surprisingly enough. Must've been blessed by Hermes. Perseus here is a demigod-" I gave Bronte a look that said shut up dip twinkle! He's not supposed to know! Bronte rolled his eyes.
"A what now?" Grady asked and let out a bewildered laugh. Bronte looked at me for permission to continue, and he didn't seem like a man who had to ask for permission a lot. I shrugged.
"He's a demigod. I'll explain later. The leaping crystals aren't working for some odd reason. Somethings wrong," Bronte's stone-cold expression seemed to harden more if that was possible. "Would you mind if Perseus stayed with you for a while? I can't have anyone else knowing about demigods; you and Edaline I trust."
"And no one's asking what I want," I grumbled to myself. Unless Bronte's pointy ears somehow amplified sound, no one would have heard me. (A/N. Do y'all think that pointy ears could actually do this? I'm honestly curious 🤷♀️)
"I... sure, Coucilor Bronte... but what about Sophie?" Grady questioned hesitantly. Sophie was obviously someone important, and maybe even Grady's daughter.
"Don't tell her anything. Just tell her that Perceus is from Atlantis-"
"Well technically speaking, my dad is from Atlantis," I broke in and smiled at Bronte. I mean, not really from Atlantis---
"Don't be modest boy, when talking about your father. He is the ruler of Atlantis. Also, we're talking about a different Atlantis," Bronte snapped. I shrugged, indifferent. But a different Atlantis that I hadn't heard of? Hm. Interesting. "Anyway, tell her Perseus is an 'exchange student' from Atlantis who is to go to Foxfine for three weeks-"
