I can't say that all hell broke loose when the game started. And that's because it didn't. These elves are slow runners. In her head, Sophie said 'Go!' to Keefe, and the kid started jogging to the place I told him to go. And Fitz.... Well, he glared at me for an extra second before running off.
And me, well I stayed put Just kidding. The only thing I could do was pace around the small lake and scan the surrounding area. For a moment, I contemplated taking out my sword and practicing but I didn't because if one of the girls found me with a sword, that would be awkward.
On my fifth lap pacing around the lake/pond, my spidey senses started to tingle. Something moved across my mind like a breath and I had an overwhelming urge to place something like a magical barrier around my mind. And, as a demigod, when you feel something like that happening, you do it. So I did.
All of a sudden, the water started churning more than it already was from the waterfall, and I knew something was up. It began to bubble up in a wave. Lihn. The actual hydrokinetic had found our base.
"Hello Lihn," I said. I had no idea where she was at.
"How did you know I was here?" She asked, stepping out behind a very pink and shimmering bush.
"Wild guess," I responded. I thought that the answer should have been obvious.
"So where's your base?" She asked and began to walk towards the lake. I stayed very still.
"I wouldn't know. Ritz thought I would tell you guys the location so they didn't tell me. He's really careful around new people, I guess," I answered her. She narrowed her eyes like she didn't believe it, and then she squared her footing.
"I heard you were a hydrokinetic," said Lihn.
"I was the one who told you."
"Oh. Well, let's see how good you are." She began to raise her arms above her head and immediately, the water began to rise.
If she had to use her arms to steady her powers she can't be that good, can she? But I have to do that sometimes.
I stood very still not moving, and then the water crashed down on me. I made the water around me split in half, rushing instead. As it filled the space around, I saw multiple brightly colored fish staring at me with terrified faces and pleading looks. When it finally stopped pouring down on me, I saw a triumphant-looking Lihn standing near the shore, panting. She had made most of the water return to the lake and even then, the waterfall was filling it nonstop.
"Thought that could stop me?" I questioned. She jumped and turned to look at me.
"Wha--- How?!"
"Instincts, I guess." Then I pointed my finger at her and felt the familiar tug in my stomach. The water shot from the lake and wrapped around Lihn, trapping her in a mini hurricane. "Have fun getting out of that," I said and then I dove in the water to pass the time.
The water was semi-warm, so I let myself get wet. There were many multi-colored fish in there, like the ones I saw earlier. They all said a nice hello and kept on swimming. As I neared the bottom, I saw something shiny... and gold.
It was a drachma.
"Oh my gods," I whispered. My fingers dug through the sand and I clutched the drachma to my chest like my life depended on it. I swam up to the shore took a deep breath and then pocketed the drachma.
Lihn was still trapped in my mini-hurricane.
"How do I get out of this?" She yelled to me. The mix of the waterfall, river, and hurricane was deafening. She had her arms out, one eye closed in concentration, and her feet planted firmly down.
