Alba's POV
After locking the door Jimin turned to face you, his expression filled with a mixture of guilt and desperation. "Alba," Jimin said, his voice quiet and hesitant. "Please, just listen to me for a moment."
He took a step closer to you, his eyes pleading for you to hear him out. "What I need you to know is that last night, when I held you and comforted you." Jimin began, his voice gentle, "I meant every word I said. I care about you, and I genuinely wanted to be there for you."
He paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts, before continuing. "But Jungkook wasn't entirely wrong when he said we've had girls in our lives before. We've both had our share of casual flings, girls we've had some fun with and then moved on."
Jimin's expression was a mixture of guilt and remorse as he spoke. He sighed, his gaze dropping to the floor. "When I first met you, yes, I guess you could say I saw you as just another conquest. I thought you were pretty, and I was attracted to you, but it was just a physical thing."
His expression was filled with a mix of guilt and disappointment as he continued to explain. "When we saw you at the VIP lounge and you stood up to Jungkook, he made a bet with me and the others."
He took a deep breath. "He bet that he could make you fall for him and sleep with him, then leave you for us to play with and discard. And I agreed to the bet."
He looked up at you, his eyes filled with remorse and regret. "But then as I got to know you, as we spent more time together, I realized that you were so much more than just another conquest. You weren't just a challenge to be won and thrown away. You were kind, smart, and strong. And I started to care about you, genuinely care about you."
"I wanted to forget about the bet, to tell Jungkook that I didn't want to go through with it anymore." he continued, his voice filled with regret. "But by then it was too late. He was already making moves on you, and I couldn't find a way to stop it without making him suspicious."
He took a step closer to you, his voice pleading as he continued. "Last night, when I held you and comforted you, I wasn't just playing a role. I wasn't just pretending to care. I was being honest when I said I wanted to be there for you, to comfort you and listen to you. But I know I have no right to expect a second chance after what I've done."
His eyes met yours. "I know I've messed up, and I've hurt you. I can't expect you to forgive me or trust me again after what I've done. But I needed you to know that I genuinely care about you, and I never meant to cause you pain or lead you on."
You sat down on the bed as you processed his words, still in shock. Tears streamed down your cheeks as the weight of his words settled in. You struggled to find the words to respond, feeling a mix of anger, sadness, and longing all at once.
He knelt down in front of you, his hand gently brushing against your cheek, wiping away a tear that was falling down your face.
His voice was low and filled with guilt as he spoke. "Can I say something?"
Jimin looked up at you, his gaze pleading. "Please." he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Just let me say one more thing."
"Why did you do that?" you managed to choke out between sobs.
"I don't have a good excuse." he began, his voice quiet and hesitant. "But when Jungkook made the bet, I thought it would be just like any other time. That we'd have some fun and then move on."
"What would have happened, Jimin...If you had never started to care about me?" you asked, your voice breaking with each word. The tears kept coming, making it hard to see him clearly through the blur.
