Alba's POV

You woke to the persistent sound of your phone ringing. Groggy, you reached for it, squinting at the screen. It was a call from work.

"Hello?" you answered, your voice still heavy with sleep.

"Alba, this is Mr. Choi. I need you to come in early today." your manager's voice crackled through the line.

You glanced at the clock; it was around noon. Your shift typically started in the evening. "Why? What's going on?"

"I need you to take care of some things. Just come in as soon as you can." he replied curtly.

A sense of unease settled in your chest, but you pushed it aside. "Alright, I'll be there soon."

You hung up and swung your legs over the side of the bed. As you freshened up, the anxiety gnawed at you, but you forced yourself to stay focused. By the time you returned to your room, Aina was awake, sitting up in bed.

"Morning!" Aina greeted cheerfully.

"Good morning." you replied with a smile.

"So, how are you feeling?" Aina asked, her concern evident despite her attempt to sound casual.

She seemed worried but she didn't ask any questions on your behavior last night. Because she knows you very well. "I'm fine. How about you?"

"I'm good, just a little tired, but otherwise fine." Aina said, stretching, as if she already forgot about last night but you know it's just her way of making things right.

"Okay, good." you paused. "The manager wants me to come in early today." You said as you made your way to the kitchen.

"Why?" Aina asked following you.

"I don't know. Maybe he has something to discuss." you said, pouring yourself a cup of coffee.

"Uh, okay. I'll tell Mingyu to drop you." She offered with concern.

"No, it's okay. I'll just take the bus. He needs to get ready for his interview." They were already having arguments you just didn't want to burden them anymore.

"He doesn't mind. He's actually happy to help." She smiled.

You took out some serial "No, really, it's fine. I'll manage." You insisted.

"Are you sure?" she asked.

"Yeah, don't worry. I'll be fine." You assured her, pouring milk into the cereal.

"Alright. Well, if you're sure. But text me when you get there." She said leaning to the counter.

"Okay." You said sipping the coffee.

"And text me if you need anything. I'll tell Mingyu to pick you up." She said assuring you.

"Okay. Thanks, Aina." You were genuinely happy for her care.

"No problem. Be safe." She smiled.

"I will." You said taking your breakfast as you made your way to the kitchen table.

After finishing your breakfast, you went back to your room to get ready. As you were about to dress, your phone buzzed with a text. You glanced at the screen and saw it was from Jimin. Instantly a smile spread your lips.

Jimin: Morning princess. I hope you slept well.

You: I slept alright. How about you?

Jimin: Not so good, I kept thinking about you.

You felt your cheeks getting warm. He was back to his flirting.
