Alba's POV
It was around mid-night when you all left the lounge, everyone was so drunk, as they all made their ways to their rooms, you and Jimin also reached your room. He was really tired he easily fell as sleep.
You tossed and turned but sleep eluded you, even though you were tired. You took a long sigh, and got up. You took his jacket that was lying around and wrapped it around as you made your way downwards to a large deck, overlooking the ocean. The cool night air brushed against your face, carrying the distant sound of waves crashing gently against the rocks below. The deck was deserted, save for the soft glow of the resort lights reflecting off the water. It was a peaceful sight, yet the turmoil in your mind wouldn't let you rest.
You leaned against the railing, staring out at the endless expanse of dark water. The moon hung high above, casting a silvery path across the ocean's surface. For a moment, you tried to focus on the steady rhythm of the waves, hoping it would calm the restless thoughts swirling in your head.
You closed your eyes, trying to steady your breathing, but the tension in your chest refused to dissipate. The cool breeze tugged at Jimin's jacket that you had wrapped around yourself, a small comfort that wasn't enough to settle your nerves. You were about to turn back inside when you heard footsteps approaching.
You opened your eyes, and there he was, Jungkook. His silhouette framed against the moonlit ocean. His gaze was downcast, his expression shadowed by the dim lighting. For a moment, you thought about leaving before he noticed you, but it was too late. He looked up, his eyes locking onto yours, and in that instant, the distance between you felt both too much and not enough.
Jungkook hesitated, as if deciding whether to approach or leave, but then he took a step forward, his movements careful. The tension between you was palpable, a quiet storm that neither of you knew how to navigate.
"You couldn't sleep either?" he asked, his voice low and rough, breaking the silence.
You nodded, unsure of what to say, the weight of the night pressing heavily on you. "Yeah."
He inched closer, his steps deliberate and unhurried. The soft glow of the moon cast his features in a gentle light. He looked exhausted, almost defeated.
"Is everything alright, Alba?" he asked, his eyes searching yours with quiet concern.
You averted your gaze, unsure how to respond. Everything felt wrong, yet nothing did. Your emotions were a jumbled knot of confusion, impossible to untangle. "I'm fine." you said, hoping the lie would be convincing.
But he moved another step forward, his eyes never leaving yours. He was close now, close enough for you to reach out and touch him. You could feel the warmth of his body, even in the cool night air.
"I don't believe you." he whispered. "Tell me what's really going on."
His words hung in the air. You couldn't meet his gaze, not with your heart pounding so loudly that you were certain he could hear it. You took a deep breath, trying to steady the storm inside you. "Nothing's wrong. Just... enjoying the view."
He shifted closer, his arm brushing against yours, sending a shiver down your spine. "Yeah, the view is beautiful."
Your eyes met his, but he wasn't looking at the scenery at all. He was watching you. It felt like time had stopped.
He cleared his throat, glancing around before his gaze returned to you. "Alba... I..." His voice trailed off into silence.
You both stood there, for a while. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, his eyes fixed on the distant horizon. "Alba, I'm sorry about earlier." he said softly, the sharpness in his tone gone.
