Alba's POV
"Good Evening!" Jin greeted them, his voice a soothing that seemed to fill the space around him. "I trust everything is running smoothly?" He asked them.
One of the managers, a middle-aged woman, nodded heartily. "Yes, Mr. Kim. We've implemented the changes you suggested last week, you can visit the hall and check it out yourself."
"Excellent." Jin's lips curved in approval, the warmth in his eyes genuine as he surveyed the group. "And the new training program for the staff?"
"Set to commence next Monday." Another manager chimed in, clearly eager to please him.
The other managers around nodded eagerly, telling him about new changes and plans. You were confused. Turning to Farim, you whispered, "Why are they calling him 'Mr. Kim'? And did Jin just ask about work stuff?"
Farim looked surprised. "You didn't know?"
"Know what?" Your heart skipped a beat, a flicker of unease stirring within you.
"Mr. Seokjin and his friends," Farim said, her words slow and deliberate, "He and his friends own this place. He's even managing the charity ball." She murmured back, her tone laced with surprise.
Your hands trembled slightly as you clasped them together, your mind reeling from the revelation.
The owners of the hotel?
Your jaw dropped. "Owners?" You repeated, voice tinged with disbelief. "You mean this entire place... it's theirs?"
"I thought Mr. Choi owned this hotel?" You asked confusingly.
"Oh honey..." Farim's voice softened squeezing your arm. "He is just the front man who works for them... but it is them who actually runs the whole thing."
"It's not something that they like to make public," She said. "They keep a low profile and focus on other things they own lots of businesses, but keep it quiet."
You watched him again, seeing him in a new light. It was hard to believe this man was your boss. That means that the jerk was also your boss?
Your eyes sought Jin once more, the man in question now deep in conversation with the managers, his expression focused. The revelation struck you. You blinked, your mind scrambling to make sense of the information.
The elegant man before you, the one whose gentle demeanor you had witnessed firsthand, was not just a wealthy businessman but a co-owner of the very establishment where you worked.
You remembered the night when Jungkook told you he was wealthy and that he owned the restaurant in the hotel. You never thought he owned this entire hotel too. But why didn't he tell you that?
"Wait—" You started, but Farim silenced you with a quick shake of her head.
"Confused?" Farim asked gently, pulling you from your trance.
"Surprised," You corrected, finding your voice. "I never would have guessed."
"Why? Do you know him?" Farim quipped.
You nodded, your mind still processing the discovery. Their involvement in the hotel's operations added a layer of complexity to your already tangled emotions.
"What how?" Farim asked shockingly.
"Well...you remember the night the manager asked me to serve at the VIP lounge due to staff shortage?" You started.
"Yes, I do b-" Farim's eyes suddenly exploding in realization. "No way..." She said her mouth wide open in realization.
"Yes way. I served them drinks..." You said.
