Jungkook's POV
It had been a long day. Between trying to keep up with my workload, and the constant worry, I was exhausted. But somehow, I had managed to pull it off, and now I was finally headed to the hotel.
"Are you okay, sir?" My driver asked.
I was startled out of my thoughts. "Uh, yeah, sorry. Just... have a lot on my mind."
"I see." the driver replied, nodding. "If you don't mind me saying, sir, you seem stressed. Perhaps you should take a break from work. A change of scenery might be just what you need."
I thought about it for a moment. A break did sound tempting. "I don't know." I replied, sighing. "I appreciate the advice, but right now, I just have to focus on work."
The driver shrugged, clearly not convinced. "Suit yourself, sir. Just a thought."
As the car pulled up to the hotel, I thanked him, as it was getting late I told him to leave after parking the car and I made my way inside from the back door. I was greeted by the familiar scent of polished wood, but instead of bringing me comfort, it felt like a reminder of everything I had lost. I sighed, making my way up to the VIP lounge.
As I entered, the sounds of laughter and conversation greeted me. Everyone was already there.
"There he is." Hobi hyung called out, waving me over.
I gave a small smile and headed over, trying to muster up some energy.
"Long day?" Jin hyung asked, noting my expression.
I nodded, slumping down into a chair. "Yeah, you could say that."
"Here." Namjoon hyung offered, sliding a drink towards me. "This'll help."
I took the drink, thanking him. The alcohol warmed my throat, easing some of the tension in my body.
"So," Hobi hyung began, leaning forward. "What's got you so wound up, Kook-ah?"
I shrugged, not really sure how to answer. "Just... work stuff, I guess. Trying to keep up with everything, you know?"
"Sounds like you need a break." Hobi hyung suggested.
"He's right." Jin chimed in. "You're working yourself too hard. Why don't you come out with us this weekend? We're planning a little getaway."
"We were thinking about hitting up Busan." Namjoon hyung added. "It's been a while since we've had a beach day."
The thought of a relaxing weekend with my friends was tempting. I knew they were right, I needed a break.
"I'll think about it." I said, sipping my drink.
Yoongi hyung rolled his eyes. "Just say yes, JungKook-ah. We all know you're not going to turn down the opportunity for a good time."
"Well, when you put it that way..." I grinned.
